I have just installed a OCZ Vertex 2 240GB SSD.

I am running Windows 7 of it, and all other apps.

I also want to use to run my mp3 collection (about 80GB) for superfast indexing of Windows Media Player and also install certain games on it.

I remember reading that it was a good idea to install games on a different hard drive to the one that windows is installed on.

Should I therefore partition my SSD and and install all games in the parition....

......or would that just be pointless?

I would split it in 2 partitions - one for windows, programs and games, and other for music and other files. I would then disable indexing on first partition, so it dont mess with my games files, and don't index them while game is running. I think indexing is not needed for progs and games, because it only makes file searches faster. People usually don't search files in games or program folders. Also if your system cashes, it's easier to just format windows partition and leave other partition with music intact.
