STALKER game save?

I had saved games named by numbers, so I assumed that gamedata.db6 was my latest save.

Did I lose my save data after my re-install? I'd like to know where saved games go for future reference when I reformat the computer or whatever.

your saves are in Shared Documents/My Games/STALKER-SHOC or something like that. Gamedata.dbX files are the files which contain the files to make the game run.
