Star Wars Squadrons Benchmark Test & Performance Analysis

I’ve had zero actual GFX issues 5700XT/1440 144Hz and HDR. I was surprised to be able to totally max it out. They patched my issue which was the joystick curves on my HOTAS. For such a fast paced game the curves were way to aggressive and twitchy to have any fine control making shooting/tracking the fast fighters near impossible.

No thanks. I prefer GOG, no launcher.
Yes, GOG would be the optimal solution. I mean I'm ready for a compromise with Steam too, if it's only used as launcher.

I do believe this will be the first game I get when my fiber finally gets connected. Was thinking No Man's Land...but this looks like it might satisfy my early teen fantasies from when I first saw episode 4.
I remember having different fantasies when I first saw Episode 4. :D

No, the so-called 60Hz+ bug people are talking about and claim happens to everyone has not at all been technically verified.

People perpetuating this myth, including the article here, are just parroting a single reddit post where an alleged dev was careless enough to say that 'they might have seen something similar once on a machine where hdr was active without an hdr monitor'.

Hey 'myth' man, have a video i recorded just for you showing the issue.

Hey 'myth' man, have a video i recorded just for you showing the issue.

I’m just glad mine isn’t doing that. I was actually genuinely impressed on how great it looked and how well it ran...

Uhhh... i get that bug myself, and the HDR bug. Both are totally verified and reproducible. your theories are a bit laughable compared to someone who experiences the problem firsthand.
Reading comprehension, operative word 'all'

Also, nothing has been 'verified'. There are no measurements or recordings of the fenomenon of duplicated frames in flight that aren't artefacts of OBS recording at 144Hz that happen on other games as well.

It's all still 'feels' since measured frametimes and fps are consistently good even on machines that supposedly exhibit the problem.

So unless there are recordings with high speed cameras I haven't seen yet (links welcome, also on other 'proof'), nothing can be proven, let alone it happening to everyone running over 60Hz.

Only if it is on Steam.

DRM-free only, with Steam as a launcher!

Care factor is zero because both Steam and Origin abide by the same laws and DRM is a non issue. You dont control the content regardless, its a non distinction ergo pure emotion.

GOG would be preferable. Anything else... its all the same

It’s the Easy Cheat that was my concern. It’s borked more than a few releases with its own issues preventing you from playing. Seems at least some Devs eventually remove DENUVO once the peak sales are over and that’s great. Easy Cheat isn’t leaving...

With our universe being either deterministic or random, control is but a mere illusion. Carpe diem?

(Spell-check is your friend)
I'd say the video evidence(proof) just provided(and it is far from the only example to be found) is all the verification needed. It might not be happening to everyone, but it is happening to enough players that it is very clearly a problem that the devs need to address. They will figure it out and solve it.

Since you seem to have turned this into a competition, just a heads up there, you already lost as that video proved up and gave you the smack-down. And for the record Mr.Titusn, in case you hadn't noticed, Mussels is TPU staff with just a whole heap more credibility than you. Yeah, you can hush now.

I‘ve had nothing but stellar performance that thoroughly impressed me BUT I would never discount there are possible issues for others, I’m certainly used to being in that position waiting for fixes. Still waiting for HZD to get fixed before I play it. I could give this game nothing but praise and pretty much play it 17 hours straight(10 at least) I hope this gets fixed quickly so like most SW fans like me probably felt playing this. The alternative issues would have absolutely ruined my moment....:shadedshu:

oh god, you're not worth replying to after this. Thats a geforce shadowplay recording, not OBS. You can see within a single recording stream the effect that is occurring, especially on text. It's a known reproducible problem, stop pretending otherwise for no reason.

@W1zzard I saw your dismay at not being able to disable motion blur.

You can do so in the config file. Screenshot attached shows the location on a C:\ drive.

Edit: Great review, as always.
