I'm trying to run Magicka on steam and get this error. Any clue what it is?

Looks like you do not have the version of DirectX installed that the game wants to see.
If you transfered your steam games to a new system you may want to delete the local content and re-install the game from steam as it normally installs the files you need.

Games always have a folder in their install path with redistributables including DirectX. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\magika (might be something else--don't have that game) and look in there for something about DirectX.

I didn't transfer anything. I just installed steam, logged in, and downloaded the Magicka demo to see if I liked it. This is the error upon login. I also just tried installed Directx 9 and got another error and it said installation failed.

I'll try that again and then post the error if I get it again.

Can't find the folders. I tried searching my computer for them and searching in the start menu.
