Strange issues with Asus P8Z77-V LK after Bios Update

So the bios was pretty old. 0812 from 2012. So I updated the latest for a customer and it really acted wierd. First off, the bios splash screen is just the simple windows 10 logo from initial ASUS. Then, after updating, it shut itself off. Turned on for a few seconds, shut down again, did it again then windows updated. After update it auto reset and did the same thing. Powered off, powered back on, powered off after few seconds and repeated about 3 times before it was able to post and go into bios. At first it gave an error saying cant read keyboard then it went into bios. After resetting to default, rebooted, did the same thing as mentioned above about 3 times till it booted to windows. Everything seemed fine afterwards. So I tried to simulate the problems again but nothing. And then so I shut it off, flipped the switch to the PSU and then pulled the cable out. Waited a minute after pressing power button to drain the caps. Plugged it back in and then flipped the switch and then the whole computer turned on without me needing to press the power button.

None of this happened prior to bios update. Should I be worried?

z77 asus boards do that sometimes.

You need to clear the bios with a jumper usually.

Its a new bios but still has settings saved from old and it goes into a multiple tries boot cycle.

Its currently on right now and working. Should I still clear the bios with the jumper?

Leave it be then. If it acts up again clear it.

Before any motherboard bios update, clear cmos, then power up and save optimized defaults and then flash

That's probably why they suggest only UPDATING WHEN you have an issue, NOT because the dating is old.

It was to support xeon cpu. Try not to jump to conclusions.

I would not care, MS should not be pushing this crap unless they are willing to pay for a bricked PC. I hope some one is able to sue them for this kind of BS.

Well, customer picked up his PC. He is wrapping it up to give his kid as an APAX and similar games machine. Prior to giving it, I unplugged it, shut it off, turned it back on after putting plugs back in to see if it reacts properly. Seems to be fine.

I don't care for that motherboard for sure. If external USB drives are connected, it seems to freeze at bios screen.

When I built that PC, I got the motherboard, cpu (3570K), PSU and GPU (Rx 580 8gb) free from friend as I built him new machine and didn't care in selling old one.
