Hey guys

I bought a laptop of a mate of mine, specs below. It has xp on it but I wanted to do a fresh install, I have a genuine xp home cd here and he has a c of a sticker on laptop...

Now call me stupid, but I have done this a million times before on laptops, I insert xp cd, set boot sequence to CD, HDD etc.. laptop boots and then go into XP setup menu.... delete partition and then install new xp.....

Well with this laptop it doesn't want to do that, I have done some research and it says to hold down the "C" key when starting up to go into install mode, I have tried that and it says Booting from cd.... it takes about 5 minutes to go through it all and then it just boots into windows???

I don't have the toshiba recovery cd, but I figured it wouldn't matter if I had a genuine xp cd.....

Any one have any ideas???

Specs:

p4 3.06ghz
256mb DDR333 Ram
40gig hdd
radeon 9000
etc
etc
