There'a an X2 4800+ Toledo Core skt939 processor.

The 4400+ skt. 939 operates at 2.2ghz but unlike the 4200+, each core has 1mb of cache. These were not manufactured for long, so they are quite rare now.

oopz i jus check again its 4200+ not 4400+ my bad

so there is such thing as X2 4200+ 939..... jus making sure

There ya go! Two of them actually.

amd simply abandoned 939 when am2 was released.. no more cpu releases.. the odd decent chip still kicking about now costs a fortune..

its cheaper to ditch and go am2..

trog

I currently run a X24200+ s.939 Manchester core, check my system specs so yes, there is such thing.

4200 x2 toledo core here,

I have a 4400+ Toledo right now, pretty fast and OCs decently too with extra voltage.

Looks like I got lucky finding this one too, it's got some extra cache so that can't be bad.

oopz i jus check again its 4200+ not 4400+ my bad

i use this cpu in my old system, OC really good. Got it up to 2.8Ghz. But yeah i upgraded to AM2. BIG Difference!!! But if you want a 939 rig, your best is to get the x2 4200+. 4400+ are almost impossible to find. And the 4800+ are still pretty high.

i have a 4400+ 939 sitting right here :P

yes there is, but best one would be the origanel 4800 x2 as it had more cache. Other wise for for a opty.

i have had it for about a year and a half. but only used it for about a year and i have had it ovclocked to 2.6

Opterons are the real way to go in 939.I have run through X2 3800+. X2 4200+ and the X2 4600+ and to tell you the truth my Opty 170 paddled all their asses. OC with less voltage in most instances as well!

Still finding Optys on ebay as well, and at a descent rate!

Just my 2 pennies.

pick up a single core sandy 4000+.. cheap cos the word has gone dual.. its what i had in my 939 before moving to am2.. it will still bang out a super pi run faster than any current am2 chip..

trog

Yeah, Opteron CPUs are great for 939 platform. They are somewhat cheaper then corresponding 939 X2 chips, as far as eBay is concerned at least. I guess lot of people think Opteron chips are deficient when it comes to media and gaming, since they are server oriented chips. The Opteron 170 I got from erocker does 2.9GHz with ease (from stock 2.0GHz), and I'll be trying for 3.0GHz over the weekend. Which reminds me, I should really update my profile specs.
