hey guys i need a good keyboard / mouse set thats cheap and good for gaming.
also can somebody answer theses myths ive heard:

-ps/2 is better than usb?
-corded better cordless?

is this true for gaming?
im only allowing myself a MAXIMUM of £20 ok! please yse the following online stores as theyr the only ones i intend to buy from:

www.microdirect.co.uk
www.scan.co.uk
www.ebuyer.co.uk

thanks for your help guys!

your probably going to want to spend the majority of that on the mouse as it's more important. are you a low sensitivity gamer or a high, small hand or big hand?

- Christine

erm..?! i like the reticule to get across the screen in one sweep of the mouse but not too quick. my hand is not big or small just in the middle lol

i aint got a clue what to look for in mice!

also let me add that atm i use standard dell keyboard and mouse and i dont have a prob. its three years old and seeing as ive got a new comp i want to replace them with summat new

I say do as both Calvary and Mk has said. Your keyboard is good for the time. I don't see spending an arm and leg on a keyboard since everyone has the main function, keys!

The Mouse that Mk has suggest is good. I also suggest this one. It's PS2.
It's hard to get a good gaming mouse for under 20 uk money. So if you can, give out another 10 and your good

damn thats expensive man! i found this and also found a review of it here on tpu. seems to be good value for money

I have never tried one of those or heard from anyone that has. thats not saying its not good, just I dont know.

What I can say for certain is the Logitech 518 is excellent.

what is the transfer rate from pounds to US dollars. I may know how you can get a 518. PM me

Both true but only if you use other usb devices it can steal bandwidth thats all and a little extra memory i think because it has to be enabled in bios thats what i always was lead to belive anyway. And cordless it a pain in the butt stay away from it u'll get sick of charging batterys and for gaming its very inacurate and buggy.Another thing if you get infa red mouse use a one color mouse matt having pictures n other colors on the matt can make the mouse behave badly.Im a long time gamer so ive had plenty of experience in this field.

As a large-handed man.;) My Razer Copperhead and Saitek Eclipse are perfect for me. Those who question me can challenge me in some Deathmatch in Unreal Tournament 2k4 or III.:) I'll give you proof.

PS/2 is going the way of the caveman btw. USB 2.0 FTW!

i'll question you in TF2 :P

<- STA Gold #1 QWTF, WOGL #11/263 1v1 Soldier TFC

I would go with the Ikari over the MX518

- Christine

As for mouse dpi its down to taste and gaming style i think. ive used cheap mice and expensive mice. with the cheaper mice i just turn up the cursor speed in contol pannel that always helped me but i am fussy lol i like a mouse to have a little weight to it.
it just suits my gaming.

Sounds like a match is brewing! I'm still in love with my G5. So I haven't went to USB yet...

Them's fight'en words. I gotta say I love my Saitek Eclipse and G5. Won't go back to my old setup anytime soon.

If I can get at least four people to post "I want to play some DM" in the UT3 clubhouse right now, I'll put some gas in the ol' server and fire er' up!

I need to get Unreal Tournament 3 again... something messed up on my old cd, and multiplayer doesn't like me to much... they told me to get another cd and they would pay back, but still haven't yet... lol

guys i understand where your coming from, im sure that £30 gets you a really good mouse. but for 3 yrs now ive used an oem dell keyboard and mouse, im gonna sell them on with my old dell base unit so i just wanna get summat cheap and cheerful to replace it with.
think of it as a challenge, £20 to get the best keyboard and mouse deal you can find!

so far i like the look of this keyboard
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/101360

but theres cheaper versions of it by logitech so i dont mind downgrading it for a better mouse, its the mouse thats the important part.

nitro, the rx1000 i saw before, but people say its really thin and light, dont think i could live with that but then again its cheap and goes perfectly with the keyboard. the sharkoon gamer mouse looks the best deal atm tho but thats going slightly over budget, and i like to work within budget!
