Well Asus email me back and gave me a big list of things to do which I have done. They said if none of it works, they will set up an RMA.

means you contacted their warranty service.

Maybe sell the CPU and switch on to a better platform + CPU while you're at it, just a idea if you have spare money.

Yeah i tried to setup an RMA myself on their online application and they want proof of purchase. Since I didnt buy retail, I dont have that. Thoughh I did send them an email saying id like to setup an RMA so maybe they will do it for me with no need for it. We will see I guess. Ill wait on buying the new board till I hear from them though.

I dont have spare money, honestly I dont have money really at all, at least not for this. This is the last thing I want to deal with too, having just started my hardest semester for EEs at my school.

Yeah. I thought so too. till I went to hit submit and its like youre missing some information. scrolled up, and it asked for a file/proof of purchase. Ill wait to hear back from the email though. because at the end of the huge list of stuff they sent me, they said if none of that works they can set up an RMA.

I ended up buying an MSI Z97 Gaming 5 for $100 on ebay. Even if Asus would RMA, I didnt want to wait 2 weeks. I want to be able to use my rig to type lab reports for school. I hate typing long stuff on my Surface 3.

Also going to assemble the rig outside the case and run it that way for a few weeks.

After this mishap, i am now going to buy all main components from retail so I can for sure RMA if it needs to happen. Motherboard, CPU, and GPU.

If all they need is proof of ownership, then a hand written receipt should suffice.
Fortunately the only RMA i had to do was with G.Skill, and when asked for proof of purchase I informed them I purchased the Ram on eBay and they said no problem, send it in.

So I got the Z97 Gaming 5 connected right now. outside of the case to make sure it all works. I got the board off ebay so it is used. The system boots fine, at least to the bios since i dont have my hard drives connected, with one stick of ram in. When I try 2. it just gets stuck is a boot loop. Ive done a BIOS update and nothing is working. I did notice that one of the pins in the CPU socket might be bent or something. But feel like would cause problems with 1 stick of ram too if it really was bent. The person i bought it from did say i cant send it back within like 14 days if it doesnt work.

Luck is just not with me lately!

EDIT: Did more tests. The board doesnt like memory in 2 slots furthest from the CPU. But i can run 2 sticks in the first 2 slots closest to the CPU. Faulty board

In the midst of all this BS. Decided id finally change my pump inlet and outlet configuration. Before I had the outlet coming out the same side as the inlet and up to my top rad. But with the new 1070 that made the tube really crammed between the card and the reservoir. So I rotated the pump and res 180 degrees so that now the outlet is on the other side and the inlet is the same. So now there is plenty of space for the GPU. I also used my dremel to cut out a small chunk out of the bottom of the 5.25 in bay so the tube has a straighter route.
