System76's Launch is a unique take on the 75% keyboard formula. It's a completely open-source design both on the hardware and firmware front, providing for a low profile typing experience with a few interesting tweaks, including a split space bar and the use of rarely seen Kailh BOX switches.

Nice review! System76 is a great company. I'm waiting for the Launch Heavy release (I prefer numpad).

Looks nice & well made, but made in USA or not, configurable or not, $285 is pretty steep for a TKL KB IMHO...although I'm diggin that 5port USB hub on the back...

Now make it full sized and wireless/BT, and I might give 'em what they're asking, otherwise I'll have to pass...

Why did they have the need to write out the arrow keys instead of just using arrows?

Oh - That's great to hear! I browse their site from time to time and was intrigued with the keyboard but can't live without the numpad.

Why would there be con stating that the stabilizers could be better lubed when the keyboard advertises that it doesn't use stabilizers?

Where exactly did the keyboard advertise that it doesn't use stabilizers? You can go directly to the documentation page for the keyboard and look at the disassembly section and clearly see stabilizers installed on the plate...

i would like them to strive to remove the "foreign" word at the back of the keyboard. Manufacture your own key switches along with anything else that was "foreign", or source them locally, then that price would be justifiable.

I purchased Launch Heavy. It was just released and should arrive in about 10 days. Hopefully System76 provides you with a review sample!

Nice, let us know how it is. I will also reach out to them and see.

It's not that steep really. DIY is going to be higher as are higher end premades. As to wireless/BT the majority of the mech keyboard types are going to touch something with either. I'd flat out call those negatives personally.
