I get the pictures of the menus by pressing print screen, opening an image editor and press paste... the old fashioned way I'm afraid. I guess you could even try fraps.

Edit: NOOOOO!!! Warlock has overtaken me now... I'll be Master Sergeant Silver by the end of the night but I can only play some evenings and at the weekend at the moment... must play!!!

Thanks for the instructions, will try your method; btw, I don't think I have reached you yet, I barely made it to silver sergeant yesterday while you are about to be a master sergeant, so I think you are over 1000 points ahead of me, don't be afraid :p ;)

Oh... I misread your screenshot - I thought it said Master Sergeant not just sergeant... few, thought I was about to lose my crown and battlefield e-penis. :laugh:
 
Got my promotion to Master Sergeant Silver... and while I was commanding some noob had a go at me and made out my PC was rubbish because I wouldn't move the titan when the shields were down until I pointed out that almost every server has messaged about it. Then I moved it to show him and everyone started complaining of lag!

I still haven't commanded any battle, not even in BF2! Ain't got the balls to do it yet :o Can you command in single player mode? I want to train first before giving orders to my soldiers! :p

Btw, good thing you showed that noob about not moving the titan, I mean, I can't believe there still are some a$$holes who keep moving the Titans after the shields are down, some imbeciles park their titans in the middle of the map to use their turrets, and after the shields are down they start retreating after waves of opponents board their flagships from all the APCs nearby.

I know it's Dice's fault not to realize the problem this causes before the game was released, but come on, almost every server has rules against this now.

I really hope the patch is out soon :)
 
Yeah, I hope the patch is out soon too. Commanding isn't too hard, you can definately learn how to command single player in BF2, not sure about 2142. All you need to do is tell which team where to attack/defend, drop supplies now and again, fire the EMP rocket strike things which do nothing worth it and scan the area for enemies and place a UAV and decide your tactics from this. I don't actually get involved in the shooting when I'm commanding until they breach my titan shield, then I go and defend.

The most important thing to remember: don't worry if someone tries to mutiny, it will most likely be because your team is losing because half the players refuse to work as a team and almost never your fault. In 2142 there is always a mutiny but no one ever wants to take the commander's place if they step down, I've never known a successful vote myself. I had about three mutinies in that game (two from that noob because I proved him wrong) but when I had a go at them and told them to stop getting themselves killed on the enemy titan and actually take silos instead we won and I got about 94 points overall!

damn, i havent played 2142 for about 5days now :(

as for a patch, v1.05 is suposelly set for the end of this month, and i gonna fix a lot. hopefully it does remove stat padders and exploiters.
 
I know how you feel, my 60GB HDD with my OS died two days ago, and had to change it for a 80GBs Hitachi Deskstar HDD, just installed Windows yesterday, and haven't installed any games yet :(

Thank God BF2142 profiles are saved on EA's servers, and I had a backup of all my Oblivion saved games, but after 2 days without any gaming whatsoever, I'm starting to feel a little depressed :p :D
 
Well... I had a three day break playing Medieval II:Total War (good game btw) but now I'm back on course with about 4600 points. Not bad for three weeks play compared to my 6500ish (I think) BF2 points over about 6 months - and you get less points for kills + assists ect now.

I usually join a server called Pathfinder Vanguard =UK= 2142. It is very good and normally has an admin but it can be very hard to join. Obviously people outside the UK might have high pings.

i play 4 weeks with 20.560 points in 2142!! (134 hours=)
Very nice game but to many nooobys in public channel!!
