The subject of a TPU merch store has come up a few times and one of the newest members of staff suggested a poll and thread to offer the users of TPU input on what they might be interested in. So here we go!

In the past I've suggested tshirts, and would happily buy some, but others have suggested working pads(ones made of silicone would be sweet!), mouse pads, coffee mugs and even drink jugs. Seems like a great start!

Giving it thought, a backpack or laptop bag might be fun too.

FYI, the poll will only run for 60days, so get your vote in and tell the TPU Admins/W1zzard what you think!

Badge stickers are a great idea. Maybe also for the folding@home techpowerup.com team?

One of those heat activated mugs would be neat, where the design changes when it gets hot with coffee or whatever.

A semirigid mouse pad/deskmat with a corner that has chi wireless charging where you can put your phone, could put the techpowerup logo centred on the coil, cool and practical. Since many higher end mats have built in argb seems like a logical evolution for a product that's already wired.

Foil stickers with logo or badges, could put on fan hubs or wherever to satisfy the need for all things to be shiny and chrome.

Techpowerup certified display cables/thunderbolt 4? Linus is doing this and has had lots of positive feedback. Maybe not.

I've always wished the smart/magic mirrors based off raspberry pis or such weren't such a hassle to build. Long shot but I could see lots of people thinking - that's so cool and buying one. You can set them up too have rss feeds etc, default the techpowerup notifications?

Screenshot_20220825-045410.png

Pslatecustoms who I got my power button and sleeved cables from do custom antivandal switch power buttons - one with the techpowerup logo on the button would look pretty slick.

Screenshot_20220825-044139.png

Like with everything else, I think techpowerup could really continue to set itself apart with quality, well thought out and executed products - I know I would personally buy many items

TPU used to do merch many moons ago. I've actually got a T-shirt with a large TPU logo on it bought for me as a gift.

I'd be up for TPU drinking mugs, in particular.

I've had the coffee mug made from the original idea back when ATI existed - still use it a lot

The T-Shirt got too many questions asked and eventually tore a hole in it - although if i was doing TPU video content of any kind it'd be a no-brainer

A possible option is to sell your products through Amazon in some countries, they have several different service options.
From basic pickup and delivery to storing your products in an Amazon warehouse and dispatching etc.

@W1zzard @The King

Looks like Amazon is a decent solution. However one implements merchandise however, it can't be shoe horned in on the side. It will require time and money to do and at least one dedicated TPU employee to do, as in you pay them a wage. The stuff also has to be designed and then sales tracked on an ongoing basis to monitor profits.

In short, it's a significant operation, so I can see why W1z doesn't wanna get into it.

I guess my TPU T-shirt is a collectors item now. It's in mint, unused condition, too.

Hi,
Well shipping would be a factor seeing where the owner is located
Nothing like paying more for shipping that the item costs.

Everyone has local shirt shops around maybe just offer some nice logo files to download.

It actually sounds like a decent idea for one of the more enterprising members here (or several around the globe). Work out a deal with the W1z for the branding, design a line of products, and market/sell them yourself.

You should revisit some of the old services that did this back in the day. They may have added additional markets over the years like CafePress.com has done. Some of them may have streamlined their order fulfillment process.

It really needs to be a turnkey solution. I don't expect you or anyone else here to be taping up shipping boxes and printing postage.

I mentioned CafePress mostly because they were one of the first online services to do custom merch (circa 1999) and they're still in business.

What about official consent (and some provided images with transparency) for people to use for personal, non-profit use?

Every country has their own websites that let them print custom coffee mugs and whatnot, and i don't see W1zzard mugs as being something likely to be a high profit pirate industry.

Vistaprint has some great options down under, like the shrekpowerup mug i made for @Shrek with a mix of the TPU logo and his profile pic
(I am super, super proud of the TPU logo placement on the rear, wish i'd done the front text lower to make it a bellybutton)
