but obviously Wizz succinctly described the difficulty and possible near-impossibility to do so practically.
Yeah a few years ago I was like "this is a great idea", but once I looked into it, it fell apart. Another sign is that even big corporate sites like Tom's don't have any CN presence

since no effort is made in this direction, it is a downright huge percentage.
Not editorial effort, but I do make sure we're hosting in a way that ensures we don't get blocked in the Great Firewall

Мost used languages in 2022. Chinese is equal to English. Maybe be must have articles on Chinese and that should be part of the requirements as well.
So which one are you? The person that doesn't read? Or the person that doesn't understand English. Because if you didn't read, PLEASE READ YOUR OWN LINK before posting.

If you did read, means you don't understand English enough to understand the article from your link. The article says The 20 most spoken language. Speaking =/= Literacy. Knowing how to speak doesn't mean you know how to read or write. The number of people knowing how to speak a language doesn't mean they can read the same language. They do not contribute to the statistics of literacy rate, only speaking.

And there are many cases of knowing how to read and write, but not knowing how to speak/converse. This is especially due to the Asian stereotype (I am Asian staying in Asia, I have friends and family who are like this) of memorizing the language to answer exam questions. You can see them use English books, manuals, websites, UI be it on phone or on PC, and have no issues using them whatsoever, but they can't speak English at all. These people contribute to the statistics of literacy but not to the statistics of speaking.

That’s good to know…I know this is inside baseball as the saying goes but interesting to me how these sites work from Tom’s on down with nuances and political/corporate bullshit like the “Great Firewall”. Unfortunately communist China is not exactly the freest place in the world and the Orwellian feel of the “Great Firewall” just proves that...Not an easy place to do business with if you ruffle feathers in any way intentionally or not.

I'd apply but unfortunately I'm biased against everyone. There is no innovation in the market and everything [and everyone] sucks.
And this…is just funny

Good luck to both parties. Tempting but with 2 kids and a full time job and a shift worker spouse I do not have the schedule unfortunately.

I would be an awful great writer!

Today intel introduced their new mobile processors powered by only E-waste cores! Now with a higher TDP and a higher price get that profit margin up!

10% (!) of our overall traffic comes from China, because we're not a CN media, so they trust us more than their own sites. Making a CN version of TPU is complicated. We need to talk to new advertisers to finance it, but we don't know their language or culture. Also moving money in and out of CN isn't trivial, so we'd need to setup a local office, which costs even more money. Once once we've done all that, CN people would say we're a CN media, and they'll stop trusting us

Not all Chinese people will be able to even see TPU because of their governments restrictions and those that know how to get around them most likely know english already.

Most banks will help you transfer dollars to RMB and vice versa, I know for a fact Chase will.

It "just works" from everywhere in China, I've tested it personally while travelling. Unless there's some corp firewall of course that blocks it because it falls in the category "media, entertainment", just like in the West

I can already imagine the news posts from you being something like,

“Belkin did a press release. Belkin. So, yeah, here’s a link but suffice to say it’s probably just a boring laptop bag, charger, or something generic like that. If you buy whatever it is, be sure to post in the forum so we can either shower you with friendly jabs or tacitly express utter apathy.”

Is the job mainly focused on covering new hardware releases or more general? Currently my main interest is tech sovereignty. In my view you should be able to do what you want with the software and hardware you own.

While Linux already has good, dedicated news channels, the same can't be said for mobile operating systems. Even the major alternatives LineageOS, GrapheneOS and CalyxOS are virtually unknown.
On the hardware side I would cover RISC-V and Right to Repair.
