What's the highest temperature do you guys think I should allow for my Sapphire Radeon 9600XT Ultimate?
It's just got heatsink/heatpipe combo on it stock, excellent card imo, I just need a better processor and memory to get the best out of it.

80-90° should be absolutely safe .. the card wont get that hot anyways

yep .. ati says 120° absolute max operating temperature ..

wow... thanks for the info.

also, would a high temp, say 60 degrees, possibly cause instabilities like system hard locks while in a game?

it's quite often i get a hack lock while in the demo for Codename: PANZERS and sometimes other games (not common) and have to reset my system. in fact, it happens pretty much everytime with that demo. i always blamed it on GPU temp. :\

yep high temps will cause a lock .. but i wouldnt say 60° is enough for the card to crash .. maybe try less oc?

yeah, i've done stock speeds before and the same game gives me the same crap. i even crank down settings and the same crap happens. :\

just to let you know, the card seems to max out at 73, not sure why, but it does! maybe its just me, butothers have said this aswell
