Please test the attached build, it should be able to install the new 576.02 drivers normally, without any issues.

Also this builds adds a fallback to bypass our Cloudflare CDN in countries with censorship issues, like Russia and Spain

what security app flagged it?

May I ask if the NVIDIA Control Panel has been repaired, which appears when right-clicking on the desktop?:peace:

nvcp has been moved to system tray for quite some time, I think since nvapp release, you open both via system tray

Not according to VirusTotal...
I don't know about virustotal, maybe it has no records because the file is new and not yer recorded by their database, but I got this warning and the setup file quarantined.

Sorry for the OS language but I don't have time to change my OS locale to english right now, I think it's still quite understandable.

In my case it was not detected by Windows Defender.
With this build I was able to install the latest drivers [576.02] for my 3070 Ti.

Just notice that the name of the file is 1.18.1 and the window of the program shows 1.18.2 .

SecureAge. An antivirus nobody has ever heard of

71 others are clean: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/bed59284e22fd62e3f99805e15852a144431e5d40e2669f1f1ceb28fff4bf66f

Check if the exe is digitally signed by TPU, which guarantees it hasn't been tampered with. Unless of course you don't trust me

Is this still happening? I can run it perfectly fine on my Windows 11 system with Defender enabled

Weird, for me (Win 10 with Defender), it flagged the 1.18.2 version too, but didn't flag the 1.18.1 version at first.
Also, it flagged the "setup.exe" in local appdata when I tried installing the driver. Virustotal also reports 13/72 detections (mostly AI based or "high confidence").
The behaviour analysis in their sandboxes does not look suspicious though...
Maybe the setup.exe inside NVCleanstall main program gets detected by MS Defender inspection if it is bundled?

Ah, that file didn't get signed without signature. The old one expired and I forgot to switch it to the new one. Build in first post updated with new build

Downloaded 1.18.2 to test.
My AV is Kaspersky Standard and it gives a Trusted notification when scanned.
With Kaspersky disabled and scanned with Defender, also no warning.
This on Windows 11 Pro 24H2 Dutch (26100.3775)

Very nice, 1.18.3 fixed MS Defender triggering.
When running it though, the first time it only uninstalled NVApp, but did not install anything (still old driver). I only ticked Display Driver, PhysX, and NVCP.
After running it again with the same setting, it installed the new driver successfully.

1.18.3 fixed the defender triggering :respect:. With the current settings I use, everything appears to work fine.
Windows 11 Pro 26100.3775.

Install went fine on your latest update on 1st post. No problems here so far.
(Did not use the cloud flare bypass). Everything went smoothly.

Thanks!

no need unless you live in countries where censorship is blocking cloudflare, e.g russia and spain

I used the old 1.18 to make a build off 576.xx before seeing this thread, thankfully I didn't try to install it yet lol. Just downloaded 1.18.3 above to re-create the custom driver.

This is also on a completely clean install of Windows 11 24H2, also. Speaking of which - where does NVCleanStall save the settings (that can be pulled up by the 'use previous settings') when configuring the driver settings, @W1zzard?

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\techPowerUp\NVCleanstall

Crap. I didn't copy anything from the registry on the previous build.

Oh, well. Guess I need to re-research some of those advanced settings again and see if I need them or not.

Cheers, and thanks for such a great utility and your continued development on it!

Question - if at all possible, can you build a function into the NVCleanStall app to export the settings to a local reg file for restoring when clean installing Windows?

Yes, I know how to easily do this myself - but I had no idea it was in the registry, instead assuming it was saved in a file somewhere in AppData lol. And I know it is a long shot ask, so not expecting a yes answer, and won't be mad if you say no.

Just asking, nothing more.

In the meantime I've had a problem and am trying again, if it still manifests I'll report here in a bit.

OK, running the 1.18.3 build, Checking driver only, then nvidia app, and accepting the addition of all the other components that nvidia app needs.

When I go to build the package, I've gotten this. Done it twice, slightly differing points of pkg building, but still, it is breaking.

First run:

Second run:

No sure what is going on.

Windows 11 (Build 26100.3902)
NVCleanStall 1.18.3
System specs: https://valid.x86.fr/20gzlc

(128 GB RAM, 3x 2 TB Samsung 980 Pro NVMe SSDs...)

I've attached the options used to build below.

Just export from Regedit and import by double click or reg command

No sure what is going on.
"Can't allocate memory" .. I think this is an issue due to the 32-bit build of 7zip used. Will check if there's any command line arguments to mitigate

@W1zzard Would it make a difference if I manually installed 7-zip x64 on my computer?
