Last night I played for a couple of hours with no problems at all...

I purchased a 24" Acer monitor today and when I went to play TF2 it wouldn't go past the loading screen and the options never come up.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the game but the same thing.
I tried changing the res. but didn't help.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Did you uninstall the drivers for your old monitor and install the new ones? Otherwise beyond changing the res, which you did, i would have no idea.

Never loaded any drivers for the old or new monitor...

This is my first LCD. My last was a 19" CRT.

Did you switch from VGA to DVI?

Check the manufacturer's page to see if there are any drivers for your new monitor: if there are, install them and retry the game.

It auto switches to which ever you are using be it DVI, VGA or HDMI.

I looked on the CD and there website but no drivers found..

What OS, and what is the model #?

try re-installing your graphic card drivers, i had similar problems in different games when i went from vga to dvi on my lcd

Thanks for the monitor drivers....

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Video drivers and installed the monitor driver..

But still get the same result.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled TF2... but still the same problem..

Hmmmmm, have you tried adjusting your refresh rates? Also, did you use driver cleaner to wipe your vid drivers clean?

Uninstalled and reinstalled everything Steam & HL2 and all works fine...

Thank you all for trying to help me out...

glad to see it is resolved

I messed with it some last night and was fed up with it so thought I would just redo everything..

Thanks
