CNET editorial reviews are really dumb sometimes. Check the Samsung 830 512 review, they guy just talks about how fasionable it is and does NO test whatsoever.

You may notice that I didn't include the HP DreamColor LP2480zx on the list. It's the best-performing 24-inch I've ever seen. Its price, unfortunately, puts it out of reach for the majority of users.

Given that, I've only included monitors on the list most average people could afford.

I think the wording was horrible. I'm not saying that you're wrong, the prices for these displays are high, but not the kind of displays that are being listed. If they really were focusing on strictly affordable displays they wouldn't be doing a review on high-end 24" displays.

Also the some of the displays might be expensive, but they might be affordable for what they are, like the displays that run at 2560x1440. Stop acting like a child...

There's no single feature on that 24" HP that would make it that expensive.

Now for IPS panels there are plenty that are sub 300$, just few that are also 1200p. This is why if you have that kind of cash to spend, save up for a 1600p monitor instead, you will seriously never go back.

they must be rating it ala 24-bit truecolor style, as far as panels go 8-bit is typical 10 bit is the highest (though most argue no current screens are "true 10-bit panels")

but the U3011 is also a 10-bit billion color panel with a much bigger screen and a much better resolution for 1/3rd the price.

that dumbass reviewer basically put up as the best 24" screen you can buy when all I see is the most overpriced screen you can buy.

again once you're above a 500$ screen budget, 1600p or don't buy at all.
