The Division 2 Skipping Steam, Available Only on Ubisoft and Epic Stores; System Requirements Outed With Radeon VII

What competition? Besides GOG and Steam, all stores are run by publishers, mainly for their own content.
Actually, Ubisoft enables selling of most of its titles on Steam and Origin. EA is not so open as to let others sell their stuff.

Technically, GOG is also a publisher store for CDPR, in much the same way as Steam is a store for Valve.

You forgot GOG Galaxy and Discord. It can be a bit of a hassle having so many stores/launchers, especially when Steam is such an well oiled machine.
On the other hand, competition is good and may lead to more money ending in the developers' hands, which in turn will hopefully will lead to better, more polished games in the future.

And Twitch also has its own launcher tied to freebies that you get for having Amazon Prime...

That's probably because Uplay is the worst of the bunch and it wouldn't stand on its own? But I'm just guessing here.

True, but both CDPR and Valve have limited titles under their belts, so they're quite different from EA, Ubi or Activision.

Apparently you’ve ignored the commentary on Uplay NOW, not years ago when you might have first encountered it and labeled it crap. You are obviously not reading the whole thread.

I read it after I posted :D
But you're right, I was a GOG-only guy, all I know about the other stores is from friends and forums.

Big plus for GOG, tho! Favorite game store.

The only people who don't have to shave are Jesus and Santa Clause!!!!
Total nonsense. I look great with a beard.

Heck yes, this!

Long story short, if there has to be a game manager, this is how I believe it should be done - opt-in by default for everything (and yes, that includes cloud saves).
I'll agree with this.

I have more of an issue with the ubisoft games that replace internet explore edge with the older version which messes up your whole system until you re-install the operating system to get edge back. I have yet to install the latest assassin creed I bought on steam for time when I can re-install my operatiing system if it messes up the system the way tom clancies games do. Fun games but he needs to remember it the end users computeer not his computer the game has to run on without mucking with the operating system.

Lol... One day, when I was in the Navy, I got my ass chewed by a warrant officer for skipping a day shaving.... That's what he told me. It totally made sense. I've been repeating it in my head every morning (not literally) as I shave my face. It's one of my few redeeming qualities.

Why is your Edge being replaced by install? That may be the strangest thing I have ever heard. I play on W10, and have never had this happen with any Tom Clancy or Ubi game (or anything else for that matter).

I think something else is going on.

I've heard it sort of happens in the navy :D

Just so stupid that new launchers for everything. Having Steam, Origin, Uplay, Battle.net and Gog Galaxy installed. Epic isn't epic if you ask me.

But they probably already have a huge install base on Fornite alone. Some nice Russian chap tried to spoof my email to make an account I happily took it over so I was ready for the free game they’ve been offering
