The First Descendant Performance Benchmark

you are right my bad 24.6.1 does support but more optimization is needed for sure from both AMD and the Dev side I think. I've noticed many areas in game with inconsistent performance.

Idk to me it looks like a game that slightly favors Nvidia...... The numbers aren't worlds different vs Hellblade 2 another game running on the same engine.

Are we looking at the same review? The 3080's min FPS is lower than its competition the 6800XT.
If you are comparing used VS new there are used AMD gpus too.

I didnt think about 6800xt , because of the high power consumption with the many power spikes and also because of the abysmal rtx performance. Only option was the 7700x from the reds.

I owned a 6800XT before it doesn't have high power consumption compared to its rival 3080.

And its power usage today is still decent for its performance.

The problem is on the picture, that 580watt spike from the 6800XT is a bit too much. Some PSUs are just shutting down at these extreme power spikes and i only have a Corsair RM650x PSU and i didnt wanted to gamble or spend another 150-200 euro for a decent 800 or 1Kw power supply. And just as i said the 6000 serie is pretty terrible with ray tracing, the difference is really huge.

A CPU test would be better. There are many reports on Steam (mine included), where the CPU is constantly at 100% load.
I have a 5800X3D and sometimes it is at 100% load and below 60FPS.
Its round 50% with 7800xt on 1440p.. Some cores will go over 70% here and there.. High settings works the best..

Woof, this is a heavy game, playing in 4k but with dlss balanced, so 2227x1253p internal. Mostly high settings, and in the hub area it's dropping below 60fps in places and the 3080 is usually at 100%

With less than 8 GB at 4K Ultra, you'll run out of GPU shading power long before VRAM becomes a problem.

Amazing what happens when you use a real engine designed for real games, not yet another shitty console port. It's almost like NVIDIA is right...

Looks like DLSS is needed for 4K with my 3080. Though I don't need to play at maximum.

Game have average graphics quality, only characters looks good, most of textures are extremly low res, cannot turn TAA which gives extreme temportal artifacts and bluriness even i use NATIVE AA FSR.
95% mechanics compied from warframe, the grind is easier than warframe but require many teleports. I would assume budget fo the game with this state took around 200,000$, in game content if u rush u finish in two days and there is nothing much do do in game really, no meaningful content.

So... RT is a harmful useless disater in this game ?:
