The Official Thermal Interface Material thread

Try a kryosheet (put some paste on the ram thermal pads for contact). I have one on my 4090 - i had the same problem - paste would pump out after a few months in one spot and i would have 104C hotspot with 71C GPU temps and the card was sounding like a jet and throttling. Kryosheet now for a few months - temps rock stable, no chance of pump out.

PTM7950 will just squeeze out again - I reapplied twice.
I bet they work well but they just cost way too much, $40 pad for a $140 gpu doesn't make much sense.
 
GD900 is fantastic for anything with an IHS but I agree it has no business being on direct die applications. Try GD-2. It's thicker and would probably work better on direct die stuff.
Ordered a 150 gram GD-2 jar, thx for the tip.

I'm a little confused, siicone oil can be good to 500°F (260°C)
There are different forms of silicone/siloxanes.
They can vary in consistency from liquid to gel to rubber to hard plastic.

Sometimes I see K5-Pro (messy stuff) or thermal pads with wet outgassed silicone all around it on PCB's

JayzTwoCents did a video about thermal pads. The results were interesting.
He tested graphene pads. I wonder if we could talk him into testing Indium pads to compare?

I'm really wondering how they perform.

Yep, that last paragraph is seriously fishy, though the preceeding ones aren't much better. Also no science to be found on their site, just graphs and a video which anyone and their dog could cook up.

Colour me extremely doubtful.

Some more infos:

Without getting too techy, our compound is embedded with specially tuned nano-particles that actually turn heat into light. We have been generating great test results with thermal conductivity ratings hitting 15w/mK.
We have extensively evaluated it against all leading TIM's currently on the market, and are seeing favorable results. I'll work to get that information included.


I wonder if this paste is made in US or as usual made in China.
 
I don't think I'm that unique but I just reused some tinfoil on a GPU die after 420ing. My late HD 5750 didn't mind that (VRAM died at some point).

I have to side with the comment made by "Hattix". Physics is a thing and the marketing jargon sounds like complete moose-muffins. However, does the stuff work?

This could be marketing people not understanding the science of the product.
 
Maybe but another product of them is radiative cooling paint... i'd bet instead of paint they just made a paste out of it and call it a day lol

Believe it or not, this is a real thing.
Barium Sulfate is a material that has a natural cooling effect. It emits heat as an infrared photon at a wavelength that the atmosphere does not reabsorb. Other compounds have similar qualities.

Edit:
If you reference the point in the video cited above by oiaw at 36:48 you'll see that he applies the solution to a what seems like a computer heatsink. He didn't show whether the heatsink was used.

On Amazon there is a korean made paste called AMeCh SGT-4. Some say it's the best korean made paste.

There are some tests on youtube with good results.

Ok so maybe its possible, but I am still skeptical its going to come from a previously unknown group that decided to make... thermal paste.

That's energy into light, not heat necessarily, correct?
 
I think they are just trying to say that their thermal paste has souped-up radiative heat transfer compared to other pastes
But before i heard of them i never once thought about how radiative my pastes were lol
So definitely sceptical but also intrigued
Needless to say i bought it and will compare it to my current SYY-157 paste soon
edit: going from a previous reddit answer sounds like the paste is tuned for use with a copper cold plate/heatsink, i wonder if that means that all that radiative magic won't work with nickel plated ones?
