Hi guys&gals.

With my new WC setup in place, and a nice 4163Mhz 24/7 clock achieved, I am starting to look higher.

I can boot windows at 4.5Ghz (166X27), but for the life of me I can't get it linx stable there - the system simply reboots. I've tried throwing up to 1.45vcore at it, and still no luck.

I am currently running 1.3vtt, 1.33vcore and 1.85v pll at 4163Mhz. Temps at those settings are around 55-57c under linx load and around 32-34c idling with ambient around 25c.

When I tried around 1.45vcore at 4.5Ghz, load temps were around 76-78c in linpack before it rebooted itself. I had the CPU at similar temps to this when I was OCin' on air, so it isn't just the temps causing havoc here. I tried 166x26 for around 4.3Ghz, but this chip really hates even multipliers with a vengeance (And it really likes the 166 BCLK), it wouldn't even get to the Vista loading bar before rebooting itself.

Does anyone here have experience with D0 i7s around that mark ? What were your vcore, vtt and pll settings ?

I have a Xeon w3580, basically the same chip, on air. I just raise the multiplier and leave the bclk at 134. At 33x134=4422, I use 1.4vcore. You could be pushing your memory too hard.

Benchmark Scores I dont have time for that.
try upping the vtt to 1.4v though you shouldnt need to touch the pll some boards like it. so try bumping that a tad. unfortunately im a poor point of ref because C0's are diffirent than the D0's in the voltage dept. but its worth a shot

Okay. Thanks guys....I'll try getting that VTT higher up.

A bit tired of tweaking ATM, will leave until the next time the itch strikes.

The W3580 is Intel's the highest bin and they're cherry picked 975,thus 4.6 is feasible on air (you could even get a 5.0 screenshot, but it's not at all stable)
