Clearing my “stock” score by 1000 points and my Max Boost is 2622 of course it’s not hitting that in Timespy but I’ve seen it over 2600 gaming but it’s usually running 2570ish

Thank you for your help about the power limit for reference 6700xt.
I guess i got lucky in the silicon lottery as the results atm are following in 3dmark?
Will continue tweaking and trying to lower the voltage.

10700k @ 5ghz

when you say you worked on the power limit to reach this score, was that in the RADEON drivers or using this MorePowerTool(MPT) I have seen being mentioned on this thread?

MPT is a way to modify the power limit beyond the radeon driver's 15%. It's basically needed if you are going to do OC.

Does anyone know if the sapphire nitro+ rx6000 series have a vram temp sensor? I can't find one on gpuz or any other software.

HWiNFO displays it as "GPU Memory Junction Temperature".

yes I am across what the MPT tool would do as I noticed this NAVI gen is locked at 15% Power increase only in RADEON driver , I have been testing and using similar tools on my POLARIS and VEGA cards in the past. Its just that I haven't found a proper tutorial to run this MPT on a 6700XT card

You basically just load your BIOS into MPT and tweak power limits (GPU wattage). You don't need to touch the other settings. Then click "Write SPPT" to save your soft power play table in the registry. Restart. So if you put 350w, you'll get 350w + 15% or 53w or total power of 403w.

Most of the MPT settings don't make sense and don't result in substantial performance improvements. Some settings could mess up your GPU (for example, changing voltage numbers), while others could blow up you card (GFX amp).

Just did a FS run and my score bumped to 37300 Graphics where I had not seen better than 36k before

I set the new power limit at 200W for this first attempt but will do some more testing tomorrow with higher target to see how the card behaves

Do you need to load MPT and apply the power increase every time you open Windows? I am asking because I am running another FS run right now with my same OC and score is back to 36k with power output relatively low during the run

Another one, if I decide to remove this Extra Power limit allowed for my card for whatever reason at some point, is it as simple as using "delete SPPT" in MPT?

I set the new power limit at 200W for this first attempt but will do some more testing tomorrow with higher target to see how the card behaves

The settings are saved in the registry so you don't need MPT anymore unless you want to change the power limit. When benching it's a good idea to monitor your clocks and power using GPUZ just to make sure you're hitting your goal. A driver crash can lower your clocks but a shutdown will help you recover your desired clocks (Radeon Software also resets everything to default when it senses a Windows or driver crash). About going back to default, yes it's as easy as "Delete SPPT". Don't forget to restart.

I think i've now pushed my 6700xt reference card to it's limits this is my highest score in Timespy.
I'm really satisfied with the card. I ordered thermalpads for the VRMs and VRAM and lets see if i can then get the number 1 spot .

Dose anyone here play Total War Warhammer 2 ? my "old" GTX 1070 Ti is as good as my RX 6600 XT in the ingame benchmarks. I tested it on a i5 8600k@5Ghz and on a stock 5600X. But in that review(the only one i found with TWW2 and 6600 XT) the 6600XT scores way more than the GTX 1080, 78 vs 53 fps on average at 1440p.
Has anyone here played Warhammer 2 with a 6600 XT how dose it perform ? Thanks.

Played it some time ago, that game is super CPU dependent, not so much GPU bound as CPU bound. That bench was done with a Ryzen 3950X, and this game loves cores more than any other I have played

One thing I noticed while looking at that bench link you posted was the weirdly small difference at 1080p between all GPU's. which in my opinion is either CPU bound or a artificial limit imposed by the engine.
Only 20 FPS between a 6600XT and a 6900XT, and the 6600XT being faster that a 3080 TI
The 2700X was not as good at gaming as the 8600K, but the 3950X is another story, and in a game that utilizes cores really well, that could be the difference you are looking for. Could also be ram speed and latency, tuned and faster ram can make a big difference in certain scenarios, especially CPU bound games. I played a lot with Shadow of the tomb raider, got around +25FPS just by tuning ram.

As for RAM, "big" as in 1-3% ? i noticed no difference between 3200 and 3600 or CL 16 and 14 in any real life scenario in a year since i moved to AMD. First a 2700X and now a 5600X. The biggest upgrade for gaming was going from the 2700X to 5600X. But it was a wrong move, i delided my 8600K a few months ago, and at 5.1Ghz is almost as good as the 5600X stock in games. I guess i have to not trust reviews that much

Still, if anyone here has a 6600 XT and or a GTX 1080 Ti, please tell me what your ingame benchmark's are for TW Warhammer 2. Thanks.

"No way a 3950X accounts for 50% more performance in any game compared to a 5600X" mmmm, it potentially could I am not saying its 50% more, but I was curious about this whole point, so went on and installed TWW2, used the same presets as that OC3D test you posted first, and used my 6800XT as comparison, its not the 6600XT you have, but it says a lot about system differences, see below:

I have a 5800X@4.7ghz all core, with 3800mhz CL16 tuned ram

1080p Ultra preset, I get 174.8 FPS average, the benchmark gets 110 FPS for the 6800XT - that's 62% more for the exact same graphics card

1440p Ultra Preset, I get 118.9 FPS average, the benchmark gets 105 FPS for the 6800XT - that's 13% more

Now, as said, I know its not a 6600XT, but for me its pretty clear that CPU and RAM have a huge influence on FPS in this game, and to bring out the best of a GPU in this game you first and foremost need a very strong CPU-RAM combo. Hope that gives you an idea about what's going on with your 6600XT.

What benchmark is that the Battle one ? I will try a memory and CPU overclock, but as you can see in the video i made. The GPU hits 99% most of the time, only in the Skaven benchmark that is where you see a CPU limitation. IIRC my RAM can do 3600 when OC, but i never tried to OC my CPU.

I found a video i made when i had a RTX 2080(sad that i had to RMA that card) and quickly made a comparison to my 6600XT. In the Battle bench, i have 58 fps on average, then that means that your 6800XT is pushing out more than double what a 6600XT can. That is huge.

All the test are done with an undervolt to 1.09V and the fans set to a maximum of 65%.

In your TWW2 video the 6600 XT reaches 84c, which seems unusually high for a Navi 23. Most review samples were under 65c.
Is it showing edge temperature when undervolted?

Mine rarely goes past 90-92ºC while gaming. This days the ambient temperature is lower so it hovers about 88-90ºC. But if you want lower hot spot temperatures, stay away from certain models like Fighter, Pulse or the Biostar one

I actually watched this one but only now did I see the other temp reading. So 69c for the edge sensor and 84c (or even 92c max) for the hot spot would be more in line with the reviews.
Thanks for the recommendations, already got my 6600XT I'd share my results, but I don't have any Total War games in my library...

Battle bench, base game without any DLCs. CPU overclock wont probably have a huge impact, but RAM OC and subtiming tightening might. Also, at what resolution do you play? If 1080p, that should have the biggest gains with RAM tuning, less so at higher resolutions.
