i've been thinking about upgrading for a bit and my evga is starting to crap out I think, my sounds spotty lately and its already 4 years old almost 5 if I remember correctly.
I want to be a badass and get x79 but it's just to pricey.
Id need a new:
1) CPU
2) Motherboard (if ATX see 4)
3) Ram
4) Case
5) CPU cooler. > Most likely will have to get a new one since i'll probably move the i7 system into my other system as it's server
I listen to music a lot. I like flac audio and everything is ripped with 320Kbps, I have Grado headphones but I do need an amp.
I do play games quite a bit and i'll be keeping my dual 5850's for now. I do on occasion edit some videos or edit music but it's rare, photos on occasion as well. I will be virtuatlizing software through VMWare for school and general internet browsing of course.
As far as what will be reusied: drives, video cards, and power supply.
Budget I was thinking around $500 but could go a bit over.
I haven't payed attention in quite a while to what the hot trend is, I know ivy bridge and intel and that's about it. So suggestions ?
