Happy holidays and welcome to the last full week of the year. This week will be rather lacklustre of new releases due to the time of the year, but it doesn't mean no games will be released. That said, this week there won't be a major release, as there is none. For what it's worth, this year's Christmas week releases are a lot better than last year's. We kick off the week with a turn-based strategy game with mechs, which is followed to a sequel to Into the Dark. On Christmas day, there's golf and on boxing day, there are dinosaurs and we end this holiday week with a retro horror game with a Sci-Fi element.

Fusionist / Monday 23 December / Early Access
Fusionist is a turn-based strategy game that offers depth and tactical gameplay. Players assemble a team of five mechs, each with unique skills and roles. By choosing different "Cores" and mech abilities, players can create their own unique "builds" to suit their playstyle, play in-game missions, or compete in intense PvP battles against other players. Steam link

Into the Ice / Tuesday 24 December
Welcome to New Swabia! You are Pete O'Brannon. Or Peter Brenner, to be more truthful. Tricked by the CIA, re-enlisted into the Army, battlefield-promoted to Lt. Now it's time to wrap up all the loose ends from Into the Dark… Steam link

Golf Up / Wednesday 25 December
Golf Up is a fun-loaded golf game you can play with up to 4 friends in several game modes. In Tournament mode, you can pick between the Classic or Points options, in which you earn points by getting good results in the Holes and making quick decisions for bigger bonuses. You will also be able to play solo in Arcade mode and compare your score in the online ranking with that of your friends and players from around the world. Steam link

Sentinel Agency / Thursday 26 December / Early Access
In this story-driven single-player first-person survival shooter, you are sent to an island full of dinosaurs as a special investigator for the Sentinel Agency to solve three murders in the theme park. During your investigation, it quickly becomes clear that your goal has changed - you must survive! Steam link

On Air / Friday 27 December
Imagine that you fell asleep in a quiet old hotel, and woke up in a completely different place, all the inhabitants of which want to kill you. Creatures hiding in the dark, strange shadows, heartbreaking screeching. You will have to face the unknown mechanisms and try to get out alive. Steam link

Holy crap talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel in gaming, here. Those first two... lol. Did they AI prompt that or actually code it? WTF... Into the Ice is like a 14 year old making his first game-material, and no, it trying to tell you its 'really bad jokes' doesn't save it either... Utterly tasteless, not even jokes, its juvenile bullshit.

It's that time of the year. Next week is likely to be even worse.

yeah this is one of those "Steam should really be more critical of what they allow on their platform" sorta lists.
What a bunch of waste of space and energy

Yet there are so many worse things launching next week and every week of the year...
I honestly don't understand why anyone would buy a lot of the games that are published on there. Some are even fourth generation clones of a really rubbish game to start with...

had Golf on NES and then used to play mini gold and other copies on phones(old Nokia N gage and Sony Walkman series) with friends during college years. They were quite a bit of fun.

Got a couple of golfing games myself on consoles I can play anytime.
At least one of them has a course creator so you can make your own or let the game do it on the fly per hole as you go.

Since these and others are all on disc, no need to worry about any online bullshit.
I can access them anytime from here onwards, as often as I'd like with no threat of a server shutdown permenantly cutting me off from what I had paid for.

Starting to miss the Greenlight days when you had to convince at least a handful of people that it isn't poo-poo.

I don't like the fake nazi symbols. If you have the balls to put nazis into your game as the enemy, then show history some respect and use the accurate symbols. Or don't include nazis at all.

It's like making a porn game with blurred out genitals. Completely pointless and ridiculous.

That was possibly even worse though

Now you really need to visit Steam's special corners to find this crap, back then it was 'LOOK ITS GREENLIGHTED'

The Japanese would like a word

Those aren't fake, those are still symbols that where used, just not the ones that are illegal in for example Germany.

You've never been to Japan or Norway I take it?

I don't envy you, @TheLostSwede when picking these 'games'.

This was the other option for tomorrow...

This was a potential option for the 26th, but I've already posted about a similar game

The end and the start of the year is really quite sad when it comes to new releases.

Yeah, they're symbols, but they've never been used in such context - not to mention the iron cross is still used by the German military up to this day, so using it as a nazi symbol in a game or film is a bit dumb.

Making a symbol illegal, even for historic representation purposes, is stupid as well, imo.

I've crossed over Norway once, but never been to Japan. I'd love to, though.
