Thripses (bugs) in LCD screen

Sometime ago I was using my netbook and found out that I had a thrips (bug) between my display, it died and it was since then stuck forever, which very annoyed me but I could not do anything about it.
A few days ago I noticed I had one between the display on my new laptop, luckily I could "guide" him with my nails to the edge of the screen and once out of sight I pressed on the display and it died, today the same thing happened again, but luckily it also died out of sight at the edge of my screen.
I have ordered a clear plastic foil 0.75mm thick and I will stick this over my laptop display and tape the edges of so they can't crawl inside anymore.

I got one in my netbook and my dad has one in his monitor.
Now I rarely use my netbook, but a bug between the display really annoys me!!
We never had thrips before, it depends where you live, at the moment we live on clay soil and thripses seem to love that, luckily we will move this year when we sell our house.

my brother had some, he RMA'd the monitor and got a replacement.

I consider it a manufacturing fault that there is a large enough gap for insects or dust/debris to get in there in the first place.

Those thrips were already inside the monitor from the factory?
Or did he got them from his home.

Anyway, lucky he could get a replacement!

But what if they are sneaking in through the heat exhaust vents on the back? You cannot really cover that.

the only solution is to submerge the entire laptop in mineral oil and seal it in a fish tank.

They mostly jump on the display, I don't think that they crawl in the vents, hope not...

Edit: if they do, they can't really crawl directly in the display from the vents (I think)

I would spray bug spray around your desk where you use your laptop every couple of weeks rather than look at that plastic foil. In fact since those bugs are attacking your Dad's monitor too it might be a good idea to set off a bug bomb and kill them all.

We have found out that these bugs are coming from our neighbours fruit trees, we get them from there, when we sit outside in the summer we get them on us, you get them on your clothes in your hair etc. Then you walk back inside the house and they end up in the house. The neighbours should drop a bug bomb in their yard.

Yeah, I was off when I said vents. I was thinking a PC monitor not a netbook monitor. Sorry. I sure would not use mineral oil. You can dunk a motherboard in mineral oil but not a monitor.

Some of the bugs get behind the glass of the screen and aren't that easy to remove.
On my desktop monitor I have seen minute mites much smaller than thrips wandering around, moreso in summer.
Think of the really tiny bugs you see in old books when you open them after a long period, so small you can barely see them.

Are those mites stuck between your display now? If so, that really sucks.

Damn! I just pulled the side panel off of my rig and looked all over with a flashlight. No bugs just a little dust so I sprayed it out while I was at it. I can't remember ever getting bugs in my rig or monitor. Maybe I'm lucky.

But baked bugs or not, you would still end up with bugs between your screen

, if they can come between it.

I once had ants begin to build a nest-thing in a laptop I had.

I thought it must be from the food crumbs that must`ve dropped between the keys.

Then figured as it was winter, they found it was a great warm place to shack up.

Dissasembled the laptop and nuked the beastly things. All was well, except even

after three months occasionly I`d see an ant leaving through the exhaust vent.

Was a constant source of amusement and wonder. Laptop still works to this day.
