Today I tried to play some games on my laptop and I turned my computer on, opened throttlestop, got in the game and started lagging like crazy(might be because i have an iGpu but it was minecraft like cmon. I checked my cpu usage and it was capped at 2.8 GHz for some reason. I tried opening and closing throttlestop but nothing worked, I thought it could be caused by my computer overheating but I had just turned it on after a whole day so it wasn't hot at all and started heating while i tried to fix the problem. Yesterday it worked fine, I could use the full potential of my cpu(4.7 GHz). I have an acer aspire A515-5 laptop model

Your CPU is overheating at only 12W. Fix the cooling problem.

I'm on a laptop with a cooling pad under it. I don't think there's any better. And the overheating isn't the main problem, my cpu runs slow with throttlestop open even on 50 C

Your screenshot does not show that. Clear the BD PROCHOT box on the main screen and turn on the Log File option. Play a game for 15 minutes. Attach a log file so I can see how your computer is running.

You cannot get maximum or consistent performance when a computer is overheating. When ThrottleStop shows HOT glowing red, your computer is overheating and thermal throttling.

Turned the computer 1 min ago before hopping on roblox(minecraft had to upd) and the only apps i had open were discord and roblox itself

Once again your screenshot shows HOT. The throttling temperature is set to 92C and your CPU is reporting a temperature of 92C so it is thermal throttling.

The log file shows it is mostly PL2 power limit throttling. There is no point in trying to increase the power limits. This will just cause more thermal throttling instead of power limit throttling.

You need much better cooling or a better laptop that is capable of running the apps you want to run. Your laptop does not have adequate cooling to run a couple of apps at full speed. Throttling is the result.

So uh either new laptop or new laptop if i wanna use the same apps im tryna use?

and the weird thing is it was working yesterday and today it isn't now

it was working yesterday
Your laptop is right on the edge of power limit throttling and thermal throttling. A slight change in the room temperature or the load you are trying to run will cause throttling and inconsistent performance from one day to the next.

Clean out your laptop and replace the thermal paste.
