Ubisoft has confirmed that development on Tom Clancy's The Division 3 is underway, with the reappointment of a series veteran—Julian Gerighty will become the Executive Producer for The Division Universe "once Star Wars Outlaws - a game he is currently overseeing as Creative Director - has shipped." The publisher's low-key press release reveals that Gerighty is not making an enormous geographical move—he is simply moving up the rankings at Massive Entertainment (a Ubisoft-owned studio located in Malmö, Sweden). The French video game publisher revealed initial plans for the next mainline entry in their popular online-only action role-playing series: "A core focus of Gerighty's is to build a team for Tom Clancy's The Division 3, which will be led by Massive Entertainment, while making sure Tom Clancy's The Division 2 remains well supported. Outside of that, his attention will be on a solidification of brand identity."

He will oversee work on existing live service games, including Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence (on mobile), and franchise spin-off—The Division Heartland—a free-to-play survival-action shooter (developed by Red Storm Entertainment). Gerighty stated: "We may have over 40 million players, but The Division is still in its early years as a franchise. There are so many incredible stories to tell, places to explore and people to protect." A high bar has been set with presentation, he continued: "I think that we delivered that with Tom Clancy's The Division's cutting-edge visuals, incredible gameplay, and promise to the player that they can't get this experience anywhere else, and then again with Tom Clancy's The Division 2. It's about refinement, it's about pushing the quality bar consistently forward."

I get that I'm talking about a videogame but take the first picture in the article then look at the 2nd. Video game image quality is still potato compared to real life... its kind of sad that we haven't figured out more realistic textures and human faces in games.... I know there's some unreal engine 5 demo's that are pretty realistic but still a long way to go in actual games...

Not buying the game either way but I saw 'Red Storm' in the article and I instantly got hit by nostalgia.

Another old studio that bought us the iconic ghost recon franchise that now exists as a zombie

Not sure if I care. First one was a horrible bullet sponge shooter. So much that I haven't touched the second one, even after I bought it in a sale not long after the launch.

recently got Division 2 with friends when it was about 5 bucks, so far its been good stuff.

Ubisoft sure is putting a lot of effort into such a mediocre franchise. Perhaps that sound focus on making Division worth play before making books and TV Shows? I guess they are following the CP2077 route, hoping that a hit TV series will spawn simps for the game.

put more dev's on that starwars outlaws game they are making. or do something different with the tech like a mad max game or something sci-fi similar to cyberpunk or fantasy with magic or a totally new ip :D

Excellent, while the games may not be what everyone was expecting (or even hoping for back in the day before D1 dropped), 2 really did make soloing a lot less grindy....hoping 3 continues on with that idea. They remain some of the best looking games on the console, IMHO.

They should really focus on single players and story.
In previous installments, you were wandering a world decimated by deadly virus. However there wasn’t a single NPC with the dissease during the gameplay.
Also, the final boss was a helicopter!

People still playing division? :D
um yes. I play single player only.

Well i hope in division 3 they improved on character creation and customizing characters.

I loved the original The Division, played it a ton. I don't know if it was because of the setting of NYC or what but I played it a lot.

Played a bit of D2, but never got into it like I did the first game. Was too bad for me too, I was so looking forward to it. Going to sit out on D3 for a bit to see what the reviews and community say about it.

I don't. But I'd like a new one.

Great campaigns, boring end game. I really enjoyed New York in winter, amazing setting. I might actually play through that one again.

I still play the Division 2. There is a level 30+ mission that I struggle with.

Hopefully this Game can deliver that the trailer from the original Division showed us way back then.

He is overseeing The Division Heartland and I am very unimpressed with that game as it looks like yet another cookie cutter extraction shooter.

Note: the charts do only include STEAM players. ;) Doesn't include players from Ubisoft & EPIC Games. Still quite popular games.

I have played both and spend to many ours in Division 2 - but cant even start the game today because of bugs - so I am going to pass Ubisoft titles for a while

The worst part is so many of the bugs have existed since day one and still aren't fixed. Like DX12 running more smoothly than DX11, but it's also far more crash prone (DX11 still crashes too). Not exactly the best thing when you offer a hardcore mode.

At least give us the option to crouch and prone in the third game, otherwise a pretty good shooter game IMO.
