TPU's Nostalgic Hardware Club

This is not the configuration! The monitor was purchased and tested. I took a few pictures, then it was stretched and put away and kept for a sunny day when I will have more free time.
OH gotcha! LOL!

An HP Mini with W7 running an Atom N550+1GB DDR3+250Gb Scorpio black HDD
I would so upgrade that to 4GB, add in an SSD and install XP on it. Good little system for the time.

is there a more intelligent use of a bunch of old cables (serial, parallel, scsi, powerchords ecc..) other then throwing them into the nearest recycle bin that I'm not aware of?

Whoa, what gorilla's strength someone must have used for that unmovable RAM slot notch?

Ah, so Palit. They used same coolers for 6800 GS etc. as well. :p
Yesterday I wanted to install an operating system with the video card ( Palit Radeon X800 XL 400Mhz PCI-E 256Mb 1000Mhz 256 bit DVI TV YPrPb) , but I couldn't. I got this mobo, but it didn't recognize the card. Strange. Maybe it needs a new bios. Today I will try to update the bios and try again. If not, otherwise I will use another mobo. Otherwise the motherboard started up without problems but with the GF 6600, but it doesn't suit me :( I'm stubborn and I will try to get it to run with this Radeon. I will keep you posted. I was very slow because I couldn't install any cooler because of the huge cooler on the northbridge. Good thing I had a boxed one and ended up installing it with the Q 6600

Love those combo boards which were great during the transform from one memory generation to another. I remember having an Asus P5GDC Deluxe which accepted DDR and DDR2.

I have only a X800 GT for PCIe on the X800 series so there's half of its pipelines disabled, otherwise it uses the R480 chip. Overclocks well though, 600MHz on core without any hiccups. I do have a X800 Pro AGP though too.

X000 series I don't have a single card with an AGP slot. They are extremely rare now. Upload pictures sometime when you have a chance so I can see them. :D

Found them quickly from my stash:

I can't stop enjoying them. I love video cards with pictures on them. They seem to have a soul. I don't like the models with pipes and fans. The pictures give charm and style to the cards. The X800 Pro AGP is like new. Great set!
Exactly, the old cards just have something in them, and yeah, I like keeping them clean :)

I showed him that in PM just a little while ago. LOL! I also mentioned 7Zip as it can open ISOs as if they're container files. I noticed WinRAR in your menu. Kinda surprised by that. Didn't think anyone would still be using it when 7Zip exists, does everything WinRAR can do, and more, for free.

I guess that it's just that I've got so used to WinRAR since the WinXP days. :D

Never heard of anyone having a license for WinRAR though, isn't the only benefit of that just getting rid of that reminder of the expired trial?

Because I have it installed? Been using for ~20 years.

Like these i guess.... Sure they look interesting, specially the purple-gold model looks better then the others...

There are also great looking cards without pictures of women/ monsters on them, that also look very good... Take for example that MSI card i would say this design is sick it look as good, and even better then most of the other cards... The red Radeon cards also look very nice, no matter one have just flames, and the other ATi logo.. The HIS IceQ also look very interesting...

Back in the day i remember some Radeon cards with bad company edition, they did impress me at the time... Compared to the today cards, you will like very much Yeston cards then, they have unique designs, also they are all in perfume too...

I am trying to get a adapter for this a CF *The Flash memory is provided by a DOM (Disk On Module) fitted to a standard 44-pin IDE connector.* Am I right in saying the floppy connector is 44 pin? That cable does not fit to the to a standard 44pin ide for the D.O.M?

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I posted here!
My modded Abit IX48-Max has a new owner:), of course he is a collector with many nice & full configs and will build a niche config from my ex mobo.:rockout:I'm not giving more info about him, so none of you should even try asking me, and he definetely won't sell it to ANYONE. If the community insists I can ask some pictures in the future, but nothing more!

Oh hell no, floppy isn't for that. A 2.5" laptop drive uses 44-pin IDE (in reality it uses the same 40 pins as a 3.5" drive, the 4 extra pins are for power).

Few high end ISA audio cards... Still missing GUS, Turtle Beach Pinnacle, Miro Sound Yamaha pro, Aureal VorteX II. (prefer Diamond onster MX300, i was so close scoring even brand new one, but the god damn seller, was kinda smart and figure it out after just a day, these are costly in ebay, and called off the deal.. Shht really hate when this happens, but what to do, i always ask sellers that show me pictures of old stuff, if they have other things, and by that i got many times stuff that they did not even mention to me for some reason... That is good way of finding more parts, only problem is, it takes time for the seller to look what he has, and as many of us know time is of an essence, when dealing with about anything, as it can make others wonder, why some guy is looking for old garbage computer parts and shht.. Luckly most ppl are kinda dumb, and they dont care to even look in the internet about information, very few do inform themselves, and get to know ebay, and what the deal is.) These for now it will do, but i do need Gravis for the collection, as i see it like Voodoo V 5500, kind of item..

And the reason for us letting us know is what exactly then, i sell also many stuff i dont like or have copies, but dont share it.. Also u are talking about universal abit, not ABIT, dont see what makes this board any special.. The only board from universal abit i find interesting is the AN8 Fatal1ty... Still the universal abit has nothing to do with the original ABIT.. The DFI LanParty x48 was prob a better board overall, as after ABIT NF7 the main engineer that made ABIT so popular, found LanParty in DFI, and after that point, nothing ABIT produced was any special.. Even the NF7 V2 the orange one, was bad, until enthusiasts did mod many bioses for it, in order to be good, while the LanParty NF2 was good from the get go...

So dont u worry, i wont ever need that mobo, so rest assured and in peace >>>>>

Fatal1ty AN8 was made prior to the USI buyout, which happened in May 2005. If the oldest BIOS date is correct, the board was made ~ January 2005, one year prior to the Universal merger.

IIRC the first Fatal1ty to be made post-merger was the AN9.

You are missing the main point: It's about potential, I don't care if some serius collector only wants Rampage Extreme or X48 DFI mobos, I know it's a valid argument which makes the community bigger, some collector wants (mostly) almost unobtainium hardware, also necessity is essential to grow a large modder community. BTW nowadays many collectors don't want 450FSB+ with Quad core CPU-s, they own more than 1 unlocked QX9770 or the legendary QX9775 for that, as long as the VRM has high quality components with robust cooling which required for 4GHz+ overclock, also the layout and I/O can be a selling factor.
And yes old Abit was better, Uabit has much more mediocre motherboards in the mid range, but they earned their reputation, just like 3dfx.
