hello !
can i add how great this site looks :D dont no why i havnt come across it before

i wasnt aloud anything component based for xmas lol, so i decided to go for a watercooling kit (i no high end air couldve done a better job :P )

my motherbaord prob isnt the best for oc'ing, its elite system group 760-m

ive read ALOT! of guides n such about oc'ing, however my bios doesnt seem to have the same options

few questions :D

when people say "change ram to 333" is that the same as "memory lock 166" ?

they also say to lock the IDE to 33mhz, i cant see this option in my bios ! :(

also i read, move the HT multiplier down to 4x instead of 5x
however in my bios, i only get the option to change from 800, to 600. is that the same?

so if i change to ram 166 and HT 600, is my next step to up the FSB to 220+ for example

cheers for any feedback n such

thx, ady

p.s. my system spec is in profile!

Yeah, lock at 166 is setting the memory to 333MHZ.

I don't know where you hear about IDE 33MHZ, but that isn't an option, and if it was, it wouldn't affect OC'ing. Unless you are thinking about locking the PCI and AGP ports, I believe the PCI runs a 33MHZ.

The HTT being 800MHZ is because you have a socket 754 system, they only go to 1600MHZ on the HTT bus, lower it to 600.

Just raise the FSB until it either a crashes or you are satisfied. If it crashes, go back down 10 MHZ or apply more CPU voltage. Make sure your temps stay under 50*C at load.

And Welcome to the forums.

thx alot :)

ahh, another thing, i dont think i can change the voltage in my bios
well at least i cant find that option

No problem. It should be under the advanced chipset features. it might not have it.
