Hi everyone,

I've been checking out some old forums and I need help. I have the latest version of TS 9.6, and I'm having trouble boosting my i5-8250u. Can anyone help me with this? When I try an older version, it says that it 'Couldn't find MSVCR120.dll' and 'mfc120u.dll.

I tried a bunch of different settings, and nothing worked. Just reset and send the prints, but nothing seems to be working—maybe not even applying.

I answered this question on another forum but I will answer it here again in case anyone else is having similar problems.

ThrottleStop 9.6 fully supports your 8250U. TS 9.6 is the best version to run on your computer.

The maximum multiplier an 8250U can use is 34. You cannot overclock an 8250U. Your CPU is using the 34 multiplier and boosting correctly in the screenshots you posted. Turn on the Log File option so you have a record of your CPU performance while you are actually doing something like playing a game. Posting screenshots while your computer is idle may not be showing the problem that you have.

Check the MMIO Lock box which is near the top right of the TPL window. This will remove the 15W power limit. Low power U series CPUs are not designed to run at full speed indefinitely. Removing the power limits can help increase performance but it will also increase heat.
