upgrade itch unbearable

Is it worth it for me to upgrade to i7 5820k or is there new cpu's coming out worth waiting.

Reusing in the new build? You don't probably mean excluding only memory, out goes board and CPU. If you want a hex core, wait for Broadwell-e, like mentioned above, should be launched during Computex. If you don't need hex core or more, invest in Z170.

so far the unique acceptable upgrade excuse is selling your current board, ram and processor on a excellent prize or deal, also if you could get a nice deal on the desired X99 build, as dave mention before, keep the current one,
