HI Everyone
I am using a Lenovo Laptop with AMD processor. I am planning to replace it with intel processor. I have a few questions

Is it possilble to Upgrade from AMD CPU to Intel CPU
Or I will have to change the motherboard in order to use it.

Please also tell me if (https://serverorbit.com/cpus-and-processors/core-i7/) processor is compatible with my system or suggest me any other processor that will work well with my system.

Thanks in advance.

You need to buy a new laptop if you want to switch to intel.

Also these days most laptops got the CPU's soldered to the mainboard, so you just can't simply upgrade.

GL.

That part with the link wasn't yet included when I replied.

I sometimes have a feeling when we are actually dealing with some trained troll AI in certain situations, especially when in specific fanboy rampages occur, that sometimes defeat reason and logic. Maybe I am exaggerating.

I'm done here.

Reminds me of the 6700 VRAM mlcc troll

Not necessarily, such questions have come up before.

Yeah... with AI that's the makes it even more severe, ain't it?

If OP answers humanly later, so we'll know

dimtel and AMD are not interchangeable, most mobiles use a bga chip and not a lga/pga zif so you'd need a hot air station to desolder the chip and use the highest chip the board and cooling system supports. To me just get a new mobile.

The closes anyone with a Lenovo might get is the with T490 if I remember correct you can install upto a T14 G3 motherboard into this chassis because the motherboards have the same layout or go Framework they do the same pcb layout so you keep your chassis and just buy another pcb,

I believe the last models from Lenovo that was "cpu" upgradeable was the T440p with Intel LGA but they sadly ain't worth it today slimmer and faster models are out.

You can't replace Intel with AMD or vice versa. But you can replace same brand of CPUs if you have a bga rework station.(If the socket type is the same)
Nowadays almost all mobile PCs have their CPU soldered to mobo

Generally server type sockets are different than the ordinary processors.
