Hey all,

(*** Note, this is concerning a different machine than the one on the left.***)

Currently I have an HD 6870 in my machine. Looking at either a GTX 580 or a Radeon HD5970.

Now I would really want to spend about $400 on the card, or $500 if its really worth it, but the bigger issue I have is whether this power supply
Antec BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2...
could be enough to power either of the above.
pic unrelated

Also, being that my CPU is a Phenom II 955, is it time for an upgrade or am I ok for now? I would like to stay on the same socket type if possible (AM3)

You PHII Is enough for the time being ,Also wait another month or 2 (Around February) ,The new 7950- 7970 will be released ,I would get the 7950 for your setup.

I've seen a 5970 on craigslist for $250-300. I would get a 5970 if those were my two options.

Wait for the new Radeons. In January we'll be able to buy. Some price adjustments from NV might follow so you can decide.
