Used RX 580 no signal after bios flash

So I bought a used miner rx 580. It’s a XFX XXX 580 4gb. The card has a bios switch with 2 positions - left and right. The right one didn’t give a video signal at all, so I used the left one. With it the display constantly flickered and games couldn’t run. Furmark worked fine(the version of the benchmark that doesn’t use vram) and the card got a good score. It also green screened a bit. So all this, in my mind, points to the vram being faulty. I cleaned and repasted it and I underclocked the vram severely and viola it(kind of) helped. It stopped the flickering. I tried running a couple of games and only one of them ran - AC Unity, it ran fine. So at this point I contacted the guy and told him the card was faulty. He agreed to replace it with another one from his rig but advised me to flash the bios to check if that’s the problem.
I downloaded the only bios in techpowerup for a xfx 580 4gb. It seemed all was ok until after the restart the gpu didn’t give any signal. And I flashed the left bios, the one that at least worked.
I don’t have an igpu but a friend does and I might try re-flashing the card on his pc. But my question is - is it worth it? Was I correct in my original assumption that the vram was bad? Should I just request a new card?

P.S: I used the 3.31 version of atiflash; The guy I bought it from also told me that this faulty behaviour of the card is to be expected if Im using it with his bios; I flashed the bios while using the rx 580, as my 5700x doesn’t have integrated graphics.

Hello there. As an ex miner, the card had at least one BIOS modded. In your case i suspect that both BIOS-es were modded.
For now, we need some pictures:
- GPU-z main screen
- GPU-z > advanced tab and from drop down menu you will choose advanced timings
- labels from the card
- open the card and make a picture from GPU die and memory chips. Use macro and a good light source

Hi, I took the card out of my pc and Im going to my friend’s place today to try flashing it in his pc. So until then I can’t post pictures of gpuz screenshots or the vram modules. But here is a photo of the label, if that’s informative in some way.

We need more information. Please remove cooler and make picture of the memory.

After you found out which memory is on the pcb, you can try to flash one of these below. Please use AMDVBLFASH 2.93 for flashing.

Elpida EDW4032BABG änd Hynix H5GC4H24AJR memory support:

Samsung K4G41325FE and Hynix H5GQ4H24AJR memory support:

Please do what @VuurVOS asked, he knows what he is doing, same with @Imperator and myself

Okay so the problem resolved itself somehow. After the bios flash the card didn't output a signal on my pc. When I plugged it into my friend's pc, to whom the card was a gift for anyways, it just worked. The correct bios is the elpida one. And I already flashed that exact one. For some reason it didn't work on my pc.

Hello.
So in the end you have a fully functional card?
That is great.
Enjoy it!
