The PS3 version of uber frag-fest Unreal Tournament 3 will let you headshot your opponents using a keyboard and mouse.

Epic's dominating video game series will offer support for both the Sixaxis and a USB keyboard and mouse combination. The Sixaxis controls will work in the time-honoured GoldenEye 007 way, but with an optional twist. The motions sensor in the joypad can be used to look around rather then the right thumbstick. According to a Sony rep "it is actually very accurate once you get the hang of it".

Whether you feel like using motion sensing in such a way is "wicked sick", or if you feel "Godlike" using tried-and-tested PC controls, your needs will be catered for.

UT3 is currently slated for a late 2007 release.

The consoles continue to merge with PCs... still, nice that the console gamers won't be at such a huge disadvantage in FPS from now on :p

But let's be honest, using a gamepad isn't nearly as good at aiming as a mouse and keyboard combo, good news for PS3 users. If more games followed this trend, it might be better - the main problem being that most people sit on a couch to play games, so they'd need to get a little table for their keyboard and mouse.

Very Coool!! Indeed... This will be a plus for ps3 against the 360. Now only if Sony could drop the prices a little bit, to under 5000 swedish krona(about 704$ incl VAT). Its current price here in sweden is 986 US $, which is totally over priced. Doesnt matter how good the hardware is, i would rather build my own media pc with that money.

I reckon it will have to be limited in some way.. I can't see how a PS3 could keep up the framerates to just look around freely without lagging. I mean if I went from lookin one way to the opposite in a split second on a ps3 I reckon it would lag like hell... I could be wrong though. Can't wait to find out but...

the ps3 and 360 are way ahead of any computer in terms of power. its just if the games are coded right. i dont see why it wouldnt be able to keep up, i mean hell thats what it is designed to do.

erm not quite. depends on the operation... console cpu's are extremely optomized for doing a single task.

computer cpu's, on the other hand, can do a crapload more.

almost right...

console are ahead of any computer in terms of gaming, due to their solely dedicated just for gaming.

one might argue with this...saying that i can take dual 88gtx, and c2d extreme and do better...

umm...not really, could your pc do 1920 x 1080 progressive and have complete max out settings and maintain a constant fps...in addition to do the same performance on future, next gen games to come?

Yes, but in the expensive of dumping 350-1000 per next gen, while the console remains the same for 5-7 years...

That´s quite wright...I do believe that Consoles are entering and/or attacking the CPU Gaming area to gain theyre market...They offer incredible gaming experience at low cost (compaired to CPU)...All it´s missing is getting the Game Programers to theyre side, and i wouldn´t be surprised if they became to buy the "Gamers Makers Companies" to work almost exclusibily for next Gen-consoles...I´m warning you !!!!!.By the way i do not won any console...for now:respect:

Are you trying to say that PS3 can run 1920x1080 progressive from an 7800GTX with 256MB ram.........? X360 can't even do it and it's GPU is even more complex

Well, Im currently enjoying my Xbox 360 on my 51" HD Toshiba TV and it looks beautiful. Saturday I went out and bought me a Vizio 32" HDTV LCD (720P, plenty for me even though I Wanted a 1080P one, but for 599.99 cant beat it). I also got me a PS3 Friday night. I love that damn thing. It is beautiful, quiet and pretty. Yes, it did get one finger smudge print on it, but it plays and looks beautiful and works gravy. Ive yet to go online with it, will do that when I get my router set up. After being used to the Xbox 360 controller's batter pack for the wireless one, I almost felt like I Was gonna fling the ps3 sixaxis controller into the ceiling. ITs that light and comfortable. Virtua Fighter 5 looks awesome and Im not sure if it uses sixaxis motion sensing. My point in this huge rambling, besides a smidgeon of bragging, is, both systems look beautiful. HD Gaming is so bad axe. But on the pc end, with all the tweaking and stuff, its just as beautiful and probably a little more powerful. Some of the games that are at max settings do have a very noticeable lag or stutter to them when you are playing them. PREY for instance on the 360 has a few huge lag downs that I see.

I apologies that i had said 1080p without strong support...but the idea is not that but the ability to last longer than the pc without changing the unit, or the needs to upgrade, or without the worry "can my unit play the game, do i meet the proper requirements?"...none...heck the in game settings are pre-defined for maximum results...consoles = no worries...

also it doesn't matter if you have a 7800gtx, this alone does NOT make a break a game. It a combination of gpu, cpu, chipset, memory..etc that defines performance.

One can have a pc with a c2d extreme and a 88gtx, but in all have a 30% bottleneck between gpu and cpu. As we know, the 88gtx bottles all the cpu up-to-date. How did they find this out??? by changing cpu amazingly change video only benchmarks by amazing differences (such as 3dmarks, in gpu only benches). And in a console, due to clever design, have a 0% bottleneck, 100% efficiency, and no overhead to burden with (ie: and massive operating system..etc). Perhaps that is why consoles can do that same thing as pc for a longer time just because they have no bottlenecks.

The funny thing is that recent firmwares that unleashed new potential out of the new consoles, such as progressive for the 360...so there is a lot of power that is been hidden...perhaps to take the market towards consoles in the future.

dont forget that with every new console, its like programing a whole new machine. at a consoles begining a computer will easily keep pace, due to lack of effcient programing. hell remember the xbox and ps2? each played games 2-3 years after their release that looked no better on computer, yet we had multiples of more power. if computers were not designed to be compatable with everything out there, they 1 would be a lot faster and 2 they would be consoles (they wouldnt work with anything but proprietary parts).

consoles are proprietary, easy, and even easier to code for once you figure it out.
computers are compatable, lots of work, and consistantly hard to code for and it never changes.

This will be bad for controller users - they'll get totally 100% pwned. Since they allow mouse/keyboard I see Zero reason to buy this for my PS3 since it will look better on my PC.
