Vega 56 BIOS Flash - "subset mismatch"

Hi,
I'm pretty new on doing modifications on my pc. I tried once yesterday to flash a Vega 64 BIOS to my MSI OC Vega 56 using the atiflash with the BIOS that I grabbed from here. I received the error "subset mismatch". I wonder if I should change the BIOS switch position since this could be on the protected side or if I should load the BIOS using DOS instead the GUI.

Does any one here have some recommendation?

hello,
does your MSI™ Radeon™ RX Vega 56 have Hynix™ ram instead of Samsung™ ram please?
to check, just install Techpowerup© Gpu-z™ and it will display the HBM ram type.
The AMD™ Radeon™ RX Vega 64 bios only supports Samsung™ ram at this time, and modding of the AMD™ Radeon™ RX Vega bios is not possible due to security in the drivers.
i have this issue myself.

Hey, thanks the response. GPU-Z says that it has a Samsung memory.

Just enjoy your card as is it's not like you will gain some big performance, but again it's your card.

Honest, that is what I've been thinking to do. I was looking for a quick solution, if I have to invest too much time and maybe break it I won't continue.
I already installed Morpheus II on it. Which I don't regret because the card is really quite and have good thermals but I'd not do it again. I was so nervous that I'd break something.

Stop what you are doing before you brick your card, use it as is.

The subset microcode on the card (hard coded into the gpu) has to match the bios you are putting in, along with memory brand.

You are best to not muck with the card if you know what's good for you.

I've stopped. Tried once and didn't try anymore. Was looking to see if there was some library around the topic but doesn't look like. The card is fine. I may OC, undervolt it or manage the registry maybe.
