Maybe it's just 'cause I'm under the weather, but for the life of me I can't figure out why my PC keeps going to sleep. It only started doing it since yesterday when I added my second HD3870x2 into the new case. I checked the power management settings, but it should be staying on.

Any clues?

Is it actually putting it into sleep mode, and you're able to recover from it without a hard re-boot?

Control Panel --> Personalization settings --> Screen saver

Click on the blue link that says "change power settings". Whichever one is bulleted, click on "change plan settings", and make sure that sleep is put on "never". I find the sleep mode to be more detrimental than anything. Fucks up my booting, and forces my BIOS to reset since I have to turn off and on my computer twice. When I used to try to defrag my hard drive, it went to sleep while it defragged.

Yeah, it's definitely going to sleep. It seems like everytime the video driver reinstalls (when I swap the cards out), it defaults back to sleep mode. Last night when I put the second card in I went back to default, and it was asleep this morning when I got up. I changed the settings, but I didn't reboot. It fell asleep again. I changed them again this time and rebooted, now they seem to be staying in place. It seems as though they need a reboot to lock them in place. I'll have to remember that...

It was asleep again this morning. Booted the machine up and the screen showed "Resuming Windows." When into the PM settings in the control panel and sleep was turned off. So I went into the advanced settings and found hibernation was turned on. Made sure to turn all that damn crap off and we'll see how this goes.
