I install vista first on one of my rigs last night, so i thought i would download a game( relax a demo, just cause 2 ), continue updating l4d 2 from steam, upload a video to youtube ( about 400MB size ). Now normally will i would do this on XP or Windows 7 no problems, i would wake up and everything will be finish.

Note: The youtube problem isn't vista related, i think i had too many tags in there or something.

Anyways, my computer was i thought shut off, until i hit the power button and it came back to the login screen. But i seem like because my computer went to sleep, nothing else was updating or something. So how do i keep my computer from now falling to sleep, or do i have to download or upload whatever while i am up?

Maybe i have the power saving options wrong, what is the best option to choose, i don't want anything falling to sleep, not when i am sleep anyways

You could use caffeine to keep it awake. I like using that instead of changing the power settings because sometimes I do indeed want it to go to sleep or into standby mode. Just make sure to turn off the app when you don't want it running, because the simulated keypress will annoy you.

In the power options, there will be a setting to enable/disable automatic sleep mode. I can't check now as I am not on my Vista rig, but if you can't find it, I'll look when I get home.
