I'm on the beta development team for the ww1 addon to IL2:1946. This will be released hopefully by mid-summer. We have Camels, SE5As, Fokker DR7s and many many more(30-40?) planes. As we progress, I'll post screenshots, vids, and our new website. We have all new maps, ww1 objects on the ground. Rotary engined planes have to be blipped! No throttle! As realistic as it gets! We are completely rewriting IL2:1946, and converting it to WW1. Come join the fun, and watch as it progresses!

Member, OOF team model importer and ww1 mod beta server operater

I'll try to get permission to post screenshots of working ww1 planes within a day or 2, hopefully tomorrow. We have 2 websites up already, but not to our liking yet. I'll post links within the next month hopefully with all info, videos, many screenshots ect. Gawd I wish I could post already!!!! I've seen the views, sorry it's taking so long, I'll get stuff up quick I promise....

what game is this?
is it free?

It's an addon mod replacement for IL2:1946, a game which you can buy for about $20 or cheaper. The addon is free yes, and I'll post the link when it's done. Here finally are some sanctioned screenshots, and a link for you to see all the other ww1 planes being worked on:

Never heard of it.

You will soon!
And check the link to see more work....

Also, never heard of it? IL2:1946? or Over Olieg's Fields, the WW1 mod for IL2:1946? IL2:1946 has been around for awhile. This is new, why I'm promoting it......

recently bought IL2:1946 during steams special on ubisoft games. could be fun, never heard of it before then though

Cool, Shame though i think the time could be used on there newer one ( Storm Of War ) there doing though. I guess it's cool for those who like WW1 planes though :). One that i'll skip though..

Any chance they added 6DOF to it yet loool... Or they leaving that for Storm Of War ?.

As far as I know, being IL2 Sturmovich, it supports or is supported by all trackir.
I'm getting trackir 4 for it, works perfect for all members who have tested it so far....
and as an added plus, this game will still run on a voodoo video card!! I've got mine
set to 1920x1200 true widescreen. Anyone can run it.

limited always has been since release as it only does Yaw and Pitch, and that goes for any IL-2 thats been released.

Shame too... Although not sure it Sturmovich supported it i was using HAT switch at that time

Well, since I still just fly in cockpit, I'll worry about it later heheh!
And after all, we're doing this for free.....

I for one will be keeping an eye out for this mod as IL2:1946 is my all time favorite WW2 flight sim and it would be cool to have WW1 planes.

I guarantee you will love this, we are trying to put upto 40 ww1 planes into it. No extra charge. We will continue to add planes as it matures, but always free.

Nice! I havent played a good WW1 flight sim since the days of "Red Baron 2"! - And that was ages ago. WW1 airplanes are very interesting, its a shame that this war is negleted by the gaming companies.

I guess the reason for this is that the airplanes are primitive, even compared to WW2-era planes. So many things that you think are easy for a airplane to do in are difficult or impossible to do with those motorized kites. Underpowered, slow, no normal throttle, unstable due to their spinning rotary engines, their wings snap off in steep dives, guns jam all the time, no heat for the pilot, no radio, primitive instruments, oil spilled on his face constantly... a flying nightmare.

Ah good to see some flying screens. Been watching the project on All Arcade Aircraft forums.

Looking forward to fly some Fokker Dr 1's.

Thats what TIR is for flying in the cockpit and lets you look around it. Al though it would be nice if it was added so you could look over the front and sides of the planes too ;).

FREE Now ya talking ;).... Those people who love Red Baron will mostly love it :).

Yes, actually a lot of us are from Red Baron 3d, and needed a new sim. ROF is nice, but pay to play, and even pay for single player(you have to connect to their server to play sp and pay a fee for that) and you only get a few planes and have to pay to add more.. I'll just fly OOF. Also this has trackir support for full 6 degrees of freedom. If you add the 1.1 mod installer (1.7Ggs)free as well, which we use, there is a mod addon that gives full 6 degrees of freedom(free). Download and info for this mod: http://www.allaircraftarcade.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1006
To get the 1.1 mod installer, have have to register with the aaa site, no biggie! Free....

Question is can you play 1946 with full support after installing that addon ?. As other wise it's a shame lol.. I have no interest in WW1 planes there just not my thing.

It's designed for the full addon, even this ww1 addon uses it. So yes! and again, full trackir support is available for this game, please don't let it seem that it isn't. We are working very hard on this, don't bring us down! And again, please click links: http://www.allaircraftarcade.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1006 theres info about 6 degrees of freedom in trackir, why don't you just click the darn thing?

We are now hoping for up to 20 ww1 planes to be in the first release. We have 60 planes being designed at this time. Could take upto 2 years for all. First release is slated for end of summer. Updated thread, we have our own on the aaa site now: http://allaircraftarcade.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=88 for further info. I run a test beta server with some of these new planes, and a map that will blow your minds! It's great flying fun!
I should also mention that we are using 1.1 installer with 1.11 patch. And we will update for 1.12 patch.
