Game movies almost always suck. I hope it doesn't. More than likely though:

Resident Evil (1) was a pretty strong showing for a game > movie conversion imo. After that it went downhill really fast.
Did you watch Silent Hill? It gets frighteningly close to the game too, acting not top notch but for horror that's more a staple than anything else
Tomb Raider also wasn't that bad, high Hollywood factor but still.
Hitman, I am not entirely sure what to think, but Agent 47's actor looks like a gaylord which is a shame. They should have gone for Christian Bale or something, not some random n00b who looks like he just learned how to count to ten.
However I am still miffed that there isn't a Mass Effect movie release yet. That universe is just *screaming* for a full trilogy, or even as a full blown series. It has everything including boatloads of interesting characters and lore, moral and ethical dilemma, etc etc etc.
