Water cooling / Distilled and di-ionised water

hi guys im trying to get hold of some distilled water in the UK but im finding it hard to source. Ive read that di-ionised is practically the same and thats easy to get. wikipedia says that di-ionised is corrosive.

"Deionized water is corrosive to copper as it will dissolve roughly 30 ppm Cu at 300K and typical pH of 5, and more at higher T.

is it corrosive or is it corrosive so little that it wont matter.

What would be best? i have my loop coming in next few days so im trying to get the 'water' sorted.

De-ionized and Distilled are not the samething. Distilled basically has all impurities removed. Do you have Walmart's over there? I hate looking like a dumb ass about Walmart but I never see UK references to them.

well we have asda which is owned by walmart and is basicly the UK version of walmart, but ive rang them and they dont sell it

Do you have any baby supply stores? If so they would definitely have distilled water.

hmmm well i rang both our major pharmacy stores which are boots and superdrug and none of them stock them. Infact i rang superdrug said no we dont sell it well we sell buxton water....which is just bottled mineral water (little drinkable bottles) made me LOL bottled mineral water basicly.

I guess then you are gonna have to start lookin @ that "special" water on a PC parts website but I'd wait and see if any of the other UK TPUr's have any suggestions on this matter.

you could always get yourself a corrosian blocker additive for it, those are pretty cheap to buy

sorted now found a local pharmacy sell it 5litres for £3.85 which is like 6 dollars. cheep really if u ask me
