i want to change the hoses on my coolermaster r-80 to clear tubing, but i know when the old hoses come off i might loose some fluid, so what can i replace it with? maybe mixxed auto anti freeze? and how full should it be?

if you just need some to top it off then just add distilled water ... as for how much, for the most depends on the res ... most have a line that you fill too ...

it does not have a res...it has a radiator and it dows not have a line to fill up to.i think i will fill it about so it is just above the top of the cooling fins.i will put a long drain and fill tube on it jst in case:)

i read that vehicle anti freeze is safe to use aslong as you use distilled water.

I use mixture of: distilled water 85% & vehicle antifreeze 15% and it costs ~1,4 euros/litre

i still have most of the anti icing fluid left from when i changed the hoses...so i could just top up with disstilled water..i changed the hoses and length bcuz the oem hoses are black and they are to short, so i was limited on where i could place the radiator..Now i can place it just about anywhere, and with the clear tubing it will look eben better :)

pure distilled water is the best conductor of heat, the purpose of adding chemicals (antifreeze/bleach/w:e) is to kill bacteria.

that being said ive been running my loop non-stop since sep '05 with 80/10/10 -> distilled water/antifreeze/bleach.
