Hi guys i am new here.. Im a web designer and i really need help on building a computer. I use teamviewer, photoshop, fireworks and dreamweaver, sometimes we use after effects and premiere for presentation, we also use CAD tools like sketchup to do some 3d layout. I can not find anywhere the perfect desktop build for web developers. My max budget would be $1200

I already have this: mx100 128gb SSD for OS and applications and 2 dell u2412hm monitor.

Designers prefer mac for the reason that they can use windows on the same machine but i cant afford it cause its really expensive.

My motherboard should not be fancy as long as it can run the processor well and ram is compatible.

I wont be overclocking but if non k is just few dollars savings over K version well i would jsut pick the K

GPU, this one really confused me but i am pretty certain that gtx 750 TI would be just fine im not sure. I use dual monitors.

RAM i plan on using 16gb as long as its compatible with the motherboard

Power supply, modular and non modular i wouldnt be needing the fancy feature right? cause my clients wont look at whats inside my cpu lol

I need to save on things that i dont actually need, so pls help me.

Thanks in advance

where are you from ?
tthat will help pretty much for linking info ...!

If web design is you primary job then I'm pretty sure you won't need any fancy stuff at all.

Intel G-series with 4GB RAM, no SSD and onboard graphic would be enough for you (but you need dual monitor, so you need discrete graphic card, 750Ti is enough).
Bigger RAM and faster CPU (like i5 and 8GB RAM) certainly help with resource hungry (and poorly optimized) Adobe softwares but isn't a must.
Yes, you don't need modular PSU. 500W from respected brand (even their cheapest offering) is most certainly enough as long as you don't put the most power hungry (and expensive) GPU in it.

One of the reason people like mac beside no setup needed is because mac tend to use better quality panel for their display. You could buy high quality display separately though, at a cost of course.
Who is your target consumers? If they're desktop users, most of PC users still using crappy TN panel, so it's actually an advantage to use cheap display to mimic your users lol.

I don't know who started it, but a lot of designers think they need super high end PC meanwhile their most demanding software is usually their games xD.

Have you ever used Photoshop mate? A Dual core Pentium and 4GB RAM is nowhere near enough power. SSD is def recommended, or at least RAID.....

OP my Brother in Law is a Graphic Designer, he recently bought a 2010 Macbook Pro against my advice and is now ruing the day he got it.

The $1000 it cost could have got a much newer and much faster Ivy Bridge i5 laptop......

I use that exact setup in my office (I also use Photoshop, Dreamweaver, run multiple browsers, XAMPP, TeamViewer and all the supporting softwares on top of Win 8.1).
My designer is also not fan of 'cleaning up your work before you send to others'. He's often leaving very high res sample pic only to mask small part of it resulting in hundred MB of PSD file only for one page of web.

It's certainly slower than my i7 but still decent.

Since OP intention is to save money and he (seemingly) only knows top end things, I'm just pointing it out that even low end PC is doable.
If OP's time is premium or he's working with very big & complex files (Usually not, but okay, I admit I don't know his exact job environment), feel free to upgrade the spec from there. Like I said, i5 and 8GB RAM is the next good step :)

I don't get why Mac users willingly pay extortionist prices for oitdated equipment, yes everything looks fantastic on them but damn, a lap top costs at least a 3rd less.....and are more upgradeable.

Brainwashed Steve Jobs worshippers... :p

Are you a web designer or a web developer? Developer implies software development, designer implies making things look pretty; UX.

God another user that makes two threads for the same problem kill me please.
