The Wemax Vogue Pro 1080p projector aims to be a compact, functional Android OS-based projector. It truly does manage to be one at its core with a sufficiently bright 1600 ANSI lumens, quiet operation, and good sounding speakers. But the competition in the space is fierce, so let's see if it can hold its own.

I would be very careful about considering something like this, from a mostly unknown Chinese manufacturer with a mostly unknown reputation. My first thought on first sight of the projector and packaging was "Is this another White Van Speaker Scam projector?" and some quick Googling shows that they are on lists of Chinese projector manufacturers that have been previously caught lying about their (brightness) specs. $1300 (or $1000) goes a long way towards a projector from a reputable brand.

No teardown ? We need nudes !

Yup. It is smart enough to find an obstacle in the projected image (say a plant that is in the way) and reduce the image size to avoid it. Done with QR codes projected unto the intended surface. If that code can't be recognized because it is messed up by an uneven surface (AKA plant), it reduces the image until that QR code can be detected cleanly.

Will consider this in the future. Not sure how comfortable I am tearing apart something like this and not breaking it in the process yet. Maybe I'll start with a small one that we end up getting for review.
