with air coolers now adays it seems that everyone of them is a mass of motherboard bending back plate requiring monstrosity's
what I want / need is a cpu cooler that matches the following criteria
am2/am3 socket compatibility
stock-cooler form factor: I don't want a 1.2Lb Monster in my case I dont wanna remove my motherboard I don't wanna replace brackets [why can't someone make a cooler for me looks like a stock AMD cooler but made of good copper with some heatpipes and a good fan :( ]
needs to be-able to Handel a 140+Wat TDP load
needs to use the standered AMD-CAM-retention clip
ideas suggestions ?

Are you talking about one of these?

AMD ships them with the higher end Phenom II quads. ;)

The stock Phenom Heatpipe cooler is actually really nice IF you replace the fan on it with something larger and quieter. That fan is so undersized for the heatsink its sad. Take a 120mm fan and some zip ties, silicone, hot glue, or what have you and you can have a really nice cooler on your hands :D

Oh, I missed an opp for a shameless plug: The Dark Knight is actually pretty light weight, can handle 140w, and uses the retention arm for AMD chips. I happen to have one FS, link in sig for anyone interested :o

the OCZ Gladiator Max is also VERY good and cheap, + its mounted with the same clip thing as the stock amd coolers, and it isnt too big.
