Hi guys,

I started to play Assassin's Creed Odyssey last night. But my RX 580 run crazy. Fans loud high, heat around 65-70 my idle heat 38 with two monitors. So I had to close game. How can i set to border on 75 C.

I want to run games 1080p maybe 1440p. One my monitor 1080p which I want to check my status about system, the other 1440p for game but if it is hard, i can turn 1080p on this.

But I dont know what is your opinion about Wattman Settings and Chill status? Can you share your examples.

Thanks.

Stick to the default fan curve. The VBIOS usually have hard fan target you can check with GPU-Z (mine is 75 C) so if it hits that, it will go 100% fan regardless of software settings.

I haven't seen my RX 590 go over 61C at 100% load using stock fan curve. Can't even hear it.

How many fans do you have in your case and how are they configured, it sounds like your card runs at a higher temperatures (80c) than it should under normal circumstances.

Nope, all Radeon Settings are stock except ReLive.

I have a HAF full tower case (3 Fans load+ 1 Fan unload). My room temp. 24 C

Which 590 do you have ?

Not 590, it is Gigabyte AORUS Radeon™ RX580 8G

75c is the target temp for all Polaris cards have seen

Wattman should allow you to set a different temperature target anyway if you think it gets too loud.

The fans spin as little as possible to maintain the target temp, the only way to make it quieter is to increase airflow or get a different cooler

And by setting a higher temperature target they should spin at a lower RPM. And if that doesn't work, you can always set the fans manually to a level that you are comfortable with.

You still have to dissipate the same amount of heat, if I set the target temp to 85c instead of 75c the fans will still be running at the same speed to keep the gpu at 85c because you are still dissipating the same amount of heat.

Dual monitors make gpu vram run at highest clock all the time, making card hotter at idle. As for load temperature, try to undervolt your gpu, by atleast -50mV (probably even -100mV is possible) on p6 and p7, this should bring temps down.

Today I tested game again and AMD Wattman works well. All stats normal. I haven't seen my RX 580 go over 65C at 100% load using stock fan curve with 2 monitors.

Regards.
