What is up about my USB 3.0 speeds

I can get the following write speeds if I hook up my USB 3.0 external drive to one of the ports at the rear.

EDIT: It appears, only one of the ports is exhibiting this. The right USB 3.0 port is fine. So I guess it is fried? Case is a Carbide 400R.

Is this is a driver issue? I'm on Windows 8 so it should have USB 3.0 built-in and is it because the ports are somehow fried?

Is there a workaround, it's a pain to plug it into the back. :mad:

Check your hardware manager. Some USB 3.0 headers are manufactured by diff companies on the same board which would require a separate driver. And check the manufactures web site there may be more then one driver What case? Does it support USB 3.0 ?

Your probably missing a driver or your case does not support it

I've edited the OP, the case is a Corsair Carbide 400R which does have USB 3.0 ports. The front panel ports are driven by the Intel chipset, mobo is a P8Z77-V from Asus.

I deduced that the one of the ports is faulty because I can't write anything to the drive, the other USB 3.0 port on the front seems fine.
 
What kind of drive? That would tell more bud. You cannot go blind and think any drive gets great USB 3.0 speeds. Is it an HDD or SDD. what brand and model?

WD Passport 1TB drive. I edited this out of the OP: I get poor USB 3.0 write speeds on one of the front ports, there are two at the front. I tried the other one and speeds are similar to the pic in the OP. I can't write anything to the other port.

It is a HDD. I don't think it will be any faster in USB 3.0. Yup max transfer speeds 110Mb/s. That is all she wrote. 4K and 4K32 speeds on HDD's are always slow too.... As mentioned earlier, make sure you have correct drivers and the port is hooked up to a USB 3.0 header. The second port may be USB 2.0.

Both front ports are USB 3.0. Like I said I can get the same speeds in the OP on one of the ports. However, I can't write anything to the drive if it's connected to the other port. The speeds are normal.

Guess I should rename the thread?
