WHAT is wrong with my Geforce GTX 1660?????

Im going to need more info on that card. I know its a GTX 1660 but I dont know which partner. If you can tell me the Part number, i can have a google and see what options are available to you.

Well, it came with a Lenovo desktop. Nvidia says I have to go through Lenovo. I do have an extended warranty but it's not through Lenovo. Lenovo's ended 1 month ago (1 yr warranty). So it looks like I'm out of luck with Nvidia and Lenovo. But I do have this extended warranty that I could use to get some coverage. To do that, I need a quote.

No, I didn't do anything at all with it until I started hearing the sound. Then I opened up the computer to try to locate the source. I still haven't done anything to it.

Replace the fan or the card?
The fan unless you need an excuse to upgrade ;)

Listen, if you're happy with the performance of that card, just re-oil the bearing. It's a simple task that shouldn't take you more that 30minutes.

thats a Lenovo OEM part. Not surprising Nvidia wasnt willing to work with you - they would rather you contact Lenovo for warranty.

Regardless, There are a few things we can do. Now that i know its an OEM card, i dont really recommend replacing the cooler on it with an aftermarket one (unless you really want to throw money at it, otherwise its not worth it as its not an upper tier card) You can either oil the bearing as suggested which is more of a bandaid fix (its only gonna start rattling again further down the road) or remove the shroud the fan is connected to and attach a good 80mm or 120mm fan of your own choice with some long cable ties.

In essence, youre doing exactly what this guy is doing here.

Except dont do what this guy did and use hair cutting scissors to cut the cable ties. that will mess up a good pair of hair cutting scissors real quick. Use tin snips or cable cutters

It's a PCMR tradition to ghetto huge 120mm fans onto your GPU sooner or later

I've done this. More involved process, but it works really well. I generally try to use(when they're available) 100mm low profile fans. 120mm fans will work well though.

Figured out that I may have "extended warranty" protection with the credit card I used to buy the Lenovo. They want a quote from a computer repair place. How do I get that? I went to Geek Squad but they told me they would have to keep it for a week to diagnose the issue. Any idea how I can get a quick quote to address this issue?

Just take your PC to any computer repair store for a written quote.

Seriously? All that effort of running around getting a quote, submitting paperwork for a claim just for a squeaky fan? Good grief... Just spend 15minutes re-oiling the bearing, call it good and spend the time you save doing something worthy of your time.
