my dad's cooler for his laptop don't work anymore, so i was looking around but i dunno what which to take that would be good.

He got this AGK cooler now, but usb wire broke at the usb connector so i am looking for another one.

only thing is the price, i will buy around 43usd/33euros, i have been looking at Antec NoteBook Cooler Classic B but after reading the review from Overclockers Club i am not so sure anymore.

OC Club writes this:

Pros

Aesthetically pleasing (looks nice)
Compact size
Powered by included USB, doesn't require outside power source
Brings down computer temperatures significantly
Very quiet when in use
Includes warranty

Cons

Cooler flexes on uneven surfaces or when being lifted
Cooler shape prevents some laptops from sitting firmly on cooler surface

i am moving it around and i want to have it on the armrest on the sofa too, but if it flex and can break i don't want that, so a little help finding a good one for a good price.

Personally I like the laptop coolers that Zalman makes, Specially the ones made from a sheet of aluminium. Cooler master has some decent ones as well, but some designs were ripped off Zalman so it doesnt matter which brand you go for

hmm so u mean something like this Zalman ZM-NC11?

NC11_b_01.jpg

Weight 1.15 kg
Material Plastic, Steel

ino it will be a big weight to have around in the bag too, but i guess if i want quality build that won't flex much steel is what u want to use, even it also weights...

if thats what you can afford then go for it.

I personally use a discontinued Zalman NC1000 but its very similar to this one

Its best to get one with a silent 220mm fan though instead of 2 60mm or 80mm fans. something like the Zalman NC 3000s

If you want something more compact i think Cooler master might have what you are looking for,

Thermaltake do a few with large fans although when i got mine it sucked air so had to flip the fan and now it's been good for a few things like a A/V, PS3 and of course the laptop.

thermaltake laptop cooler

There is one they do in that list that uses smaller fans but they are a changeable which MIGHT fir your needs depending on were the cooling vents are but looks like it has a flaw with ultra thin fans and being flat :(.
Thermaltake Allways Cool /4 Adjustable Silent Fans...

EDIT:
To me i wish i could find some that had external power source as you be able to have faster fan, the fan in my TT was not designed to but it works very well

I favour Cooler Master U-series ( U1- laptop up to 14'' 1 fan, U2- up to 17" two fans and U3- the biggest laptops with 3 fans.). They act as carrying bags as well. And I like the fact you can postion your fans where ever you want them. Because one huge fan in the middle doesn't always cool the importnat stuff.

well too bad i can't get it from newegg AsRock, so i need shops like oc.co.uk and caseking.de if i can't find them in my country ^^;

the NC1000 ain't discounted u can still buy it at caseking.de for about 38euros + 8euros in shipping.

and i can get it for 40euro including shipping my country.

just take that sucker apart and replace the fan.
Not that hard on MOST laptops unless it's a netbook.
What laptop are we talking about?
Cheaper and more effective solution - only takes like half an hour of time.

it's not the fan in the laptop that is the problem i guess u miss understood is the cooler pad underneath my dad got, the "cheap thing china" wire broke at the usb connector so looking for some quality bcs i have to pay for it, he think it was my fault, bcs "I" was the only one using it, but well my sis did it too, and when the cooler pad have had a long like with the wire being pulled in so it's not gonna hold forever.

Well caseking.de have laptop coolers with 200mm fans in them although a bit of digging is required as a lot don't say what rpm they run at..
caseking.de
