What phone you use as your daily driver? And, a discussion of them.

Google Pixel 7A. Not perfect, by miles better than my old Huawei p smart.

The only reason I'm with Samsung is the fact that I hate learning new UI. I used to love Xperia phones back in the Sony Ericsson days, and I wouldn't mind giving them a chance again sometime. If they had another phone with a small size and full physical keyboard (like the Xperia Mini Pro), that would be sweet!
Yeah, miss those normal size phones too. Look at this beauty:

Dual core CPU and 1GB RAM made it obsolete very fast. It's rooted and cleaned, still usable for lightweight apps.

Compared to my Note 8T:

I will get back to Xperia one day, and it will be no less than a flagship one... Until then, Note 10 Pro will hopefully do.

technically speaking my phone does everything so well these days, plus i get monthly security updates for 5 years... there is no reason for me to use a laptop anymore. wifi 6e, when connected to a wifi 6 router, i can't even tell any lag at all.
So as not to take that thread off the rails, let's talk about your phone here. Does it support OTG hubs? You could use it like a laptop with keyboard and mouse, extra screen, and USB devices when docked.

could I say use this with a galaxy a54 and hook it up to monitor with hdmi, keyboard, mouse? i did not even realize this was possible. I wonder if it would charge the phone too, since its "powered"

Isn't DeX exclusive to the S and Note series? With either a dock or wireless DeX (then using Bluetooth m&k) it's possible on my former Note10, and now on my S23U and Tab S6.

Got a Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact back in 2018. Working nicely although the battery is slowly starting to show its age. I already dread the day I have to look for a new phone. There's just nothing quite as compact out there.

iPhone 13 mini is a good pick, if you can stomach iOS

If you can stomach iOS
I've been using iOS for about ten years, since I had the iPhone 6 Plus. I have no idea why people knock on iOS especially now that Apple has added a whole bunch of stuff to make it more Android-like.

Some people are VERY particular about Android, I personally don't mind and even prefer iOS, since Android is always an inefficient buggy mess, regardless of the skin it has

I'd have to agree with you on that. iOS is a very efficient platform in resource usage. It's amazing what it can do with only 6 GB of RAM whereas to have a similar experience on Android, the device would need about double that amount of RAM.

Yes, if the hub and phone both support OTG. I believe that the A53 does (i'm not a Samsung guy) but I don't think the hub you linked does. It might work but OTG can be a bit tricky to set up.

I have 8GB RAM (Sony Xperia 5iii) and it's definitely not slower than the iphone 13 I have at work.

Android a buggy mess? I've yet to experience a serious bug, or for that sake a bug I can actually remember on any Android phone I've had.

I finally had enough of the terrible camera on my iPhone 13 so because I am on a "swap plan" I swapped it for a 14 Pro. my phone has pretty much 3 purposes, Music, Credentials and Photos. I was surprised they let me swap a little over a year into a 2 year plan but I was just frustrated, went window shopping, put it in my cart and that was it. Sent back my old phone(they send a box)Got a text it was all in order so that is that. I will keep this for the full 2 years now because I have no complaints with the camera and with the whole Type C thing. With this phone and my recently purchased 2021 iPad already having the "half arsed" Type C/Lightning I will run out the last of Lightning with these and see how things are in 2 years.

Still here with the SAMSUNG Galaxy A53 5G. Got a recent update. Do I miss my SAMSUNG S8 or LG V20? You Darn right. That module phone I would so love to have

Wish I had a 13 camera. My old S9 took better pictures than my iPhone 11 usually does.

I also still have my first smartphone, one of the original Google phones, a Samsung Nexus S (2010, Gingerbread and Jelly Bean). Almost totally useless these days but fun to play with from time to time. I still miss the screen off animation from that phone.

Galaxy S es are well known for having an excellent camera. There's usually only a problem with very-low-light, where at least until near the most recent generation, the tendency to get noisy/grainy.

The Galaxy S5 really does get noisy/pixelated in low-light.

Oh man the low light on this is pretty awesome I was actually messing with it last night I will go do the test I did last night, It's automatic which also impressed me so I will see if I can get a A/B comparison. My issue was mainly with close ups which the 13 was known to be terrible at.
Just a random shot of the corner of my living room with no lights on

It absolutely sucked at close ups which was my main issue like my bank app can scan pics of bills so trying to get clear shots was such a pain even QR codes were fiddly

Different philosofies. At the time anyway Apple phones took more realistic pictures, where Samsung had a tendency to produce more Instagram-friendly, popping images. Apple photos tended to look a lot more muted.
